We will be doing maintenance work on Vivaldi Translate on the 11th of May starting at 03:00 (UTC) (see the time in your time zone).
Some downtime and service disruptions may be experienced.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
TP3 is here!

Thats not possible yet, we are looking into it
-
ok, cool!
-
Well, true.
But after all this is just another level of abstraction on top of the already existing ones and we all know that each of those levels make the things slower.
Vivaldi's UI is slower, this is a fact. It will improve over time, but likely it will never be on par with other UIs built using the native tools.
That said, the average machines will be more powerful in the next few years, so the snappiness gap will be less noticeable in the future.
So a choice that looks debatable today can prove to be the right one in the long term

I see that Vivaldi is pointing silently to 82.221.99.163 in Iceland. What is the use of it ?

I have my fingers crossed for an ultra-secure password manager built-in so I can ditch both Chrome and Lastpass / PasswordBox / KeePass type extensions.
Keep up the great work guys.
-
GREAT! Now, I'm gonna play the annoying guy and ask: when is MSE & H.264 support coming?
Also, I would love to set the UI design for a more round shape (I don't like how everything looks flat), but I'd like to see performance improvements before that. -
Great!!
And I want: Outomatic tab stacking and only tabs must colored. No the other bars. My eyes my eyes!!! ^^

My current Opera folders are located at :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera\29.0.1795.47
C:\Users%USER%\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
C:\Users%USER%\AppData\Local\Opera Software\Opera Stable\CacheVivaldi can't seem to find them too…

Maybe you can use the bug to reset your browser's size. I'm not 100% solid on how to reproduce it out of my head, but AFAIR you need to press your mouse button down and start dragging a Speed Dial entry. While doing so, press Ctrl+0 to reset zoom. Then release the SD entry.
If that doesn't work, you just need to wait for the fix. -
How are themes coming along? This can't come soon enough.
Will extensions ever be able to bleed through to places where they very much belong (in many cases), like the toolbar?
-
Nice work. Good for further development.

Just came back from Opium's blog and I've got to give it to you : They're feeling the blows and are finally trying to get a grip !
The dude writing the blog post back there seems to be one of the guys behind Opera's lack of features based on "User Data" and "Research" !

Also, has anyone managed to install YouTube Center on Vivaldi? I kinda really want to do that, but I find no solution online, even though I hear people managed to do so.

Just found a small bug with large image handling: open https://vivaldi.net/media/com_easysocial/photos/18304/62775/book-1-tech-preview-chapter-1-a-new-hope-o-4491815_large.jpg (kudos to YamiryuuZero!) in Ubuntu (not sure about other OS), hold CTRL and roll mousewheel to enlarge. Please watch the top of the image disappear, i.e. you cannot scroll up to the top of the image when enlarged.
You can work around this bug by clicking-to-enlarge (the image is larger than vheight) and then zoom in. Maybe you should prevent zooming in in "unzoomed" mode at all. -
As a long-time Opera user, I decided to join the try-out phase of Vivaldi once TP3 was released (so, today!). Of the many, many reasons new Opera doesn't really fit my needs, the one that will always tether me to Opera 12 is customizable mouse gestures. I use a lot of gestures which are both different from and in addition to what new Opera (and, right now, Vivaldi) natively offer. There are Chrome extensions, but they're not very good.
Are there any plans to offer customization of mouse gestures in the future, at least similar to old Opera? Ideally, the functionality would be the same (for example, I use mouse-up to create new notes in notes panel), but it would already be a big step if my gestures worked in the tabs. Is it maybe already built-in and can be changed right now via editing some files (I didn't find anything using the search function of the forums, and I'm kind of afraid that that fact alone means bad news for my hopes regarding Vivaldi)?
Also, switching tabs via mouse-wheel doesn't seem to work. Is it just me or is that not implemented (yet)?
-
Not just you. Both of your issues have been requested multiple times and are probably under development - or at least on the "to do" list.
-
Let's hope it's coming soon. I'd like to participate in bug-testing (or at least reporting issues with) early releases just like I once did with Opera, but I can only do that if Vivaldi is my main browser instead of the alternate I go to when old Opera shows its age.

TP3 and Enter in address bar still not working, sorry but this's a shame…
