Snapshot 1.0.141.2 with more Tiling options and advanced notes, improved spatial navigation and fast forward

Wow! It is a cool looking thing! Now I can play in flying rectangle when I'm bored!
It stops on Quote and Reply items on this page, but doesn't stop on voting buttons at the left from them, so still you have to use mouse in modern web. You can't get out of text input (like the commenting form I'm typing now) without using old good Tab navigation.
If you are finishing this thing and it was easy to do, then let it be. If it was hard and and someone is doing it only because he likes it and still it is far from being perfect, then better you did something like smooth scrolling first, which made much more people happy. -
Or at least you see some commercial value in this feature regardless so few users voted for it. There is exactly the same feature in Samsung Smart TV browser. You can switch to a special mode and navigate between links with arrows on the remote. So, if you are targeting TVs it makes sense. But when I tried this mode, it still appeared useless to me, mainly because it scrolls page unpredictably and there is no one-button way to activate it.

retracted - I made a mistake
-
On linux is missing the flashplayer plugin, earlier page in history does not be loaded, there are randomly crashes.
-
Confirmed on Kubuntu 12.04
-
Flashplayer plugin is fixed internally, and should be out next build.

I I LOVE spatial navigation and use it a lot especially with the 'find in page' search. It's also great when reading news tickers. Unfortunately 'find in page' does not work as it does in Opera: There you could hit ENTER on a search result that was a link and the link was 'clicked'. In Vivaldi you only get to the next search result when hitting enter. What a pity!

I think you are too demanding and also drawing overhasty conclusions. When someone does not fix small fixes as e.g. typos or incorrect descriptions it does not necessarily mean he's not listening to you. I can mean tons of other things. Apparently vivaldi crew focuses on implementing new features and getting them to work rather than polishing them. I think this is good practice because sometimes features interact or change. Polishing and fixing the 'easy' bugs is the last thing to do (and takes a lot of work, also).

I found a bug:
You need to have an open tab. Then:
Open a new tab with CTRL+T,
type something in the address bar so it shows the pane with suggestions,
hit CTRL+F4 to close the tab.
The pane with suggestions stays visible and the cursor stays in the address field. Both shouldn't be this way.And CTRL+left/right bug is really (!) annoying…
PS: Is it only me? I am unable to edit comments. That's especially cumbersome as there is no preview for the comments.

Hey,
it's little bit sad to say that since I'm part of translation (Czech) team but these translations are driving me crazy.
Chromium translations are even on the Vivaldi setting page now!For example strings for "Bookmarks bar Display" (text and icons, icon only, text only). Strings "icon only" and "text only" are translated by someone else (I assume it's chromium team) and we can translate only the "text and icon".
And even that simple strings are translated with grammatical errors from Chromium team. (beside other type of words used compared to words we use)Not speaking about content menus etc where it's even more visible and that makes me cry… I'm not sure if it's not even better to just leave it alone (in English) than use Chromium translations since it's incomparability with ours.
CHROMIUM IS OPEN SOURCED, FOLK IT, LET US TRANSLATE IT, IMPLEMENT IT AFTERWARDS. -
Thats where the stacked tab indicators are placed.
-
When I use the trashcan with a 'code inspector'(chrome-devtools) opened, it will reopen the selected item in the 'code inspector'

A comment from Olli in other place of these comments:
Yeah we got link gestures working today, so should be in the next build -
Same here. Works fine on Debian 64bit.

Here's a small wishlist:
- Being able to customize the type of progress bar on background tabs (the previous circle one, the current one, or my favorite, the Opera 12 style)
- Title bar
- Youtube (flash player based videos) working correctly
- Performance improvements on the Speed Dial
- Tab stack similar to O12's: a border shows the tabs that are being stacked, where you can expand or contract at will without making the tabs un-stack
- Tabs generated by stacked tabs stay grouped in the same stacking folder
For now, that's what I want from Vivaldi. Hope you can implement some of those next week. I'm a heavy Youtube user, so the fact I can't watch videos past 360p is one of the few things keeping me from making Vivaldi my default browser. I'm still using O12 for most things, and Chrome only for Youtube videos I really wanna check in 60fps, which neither Vivaldi or O12 can run (Vivaldi because of the 360p thing).

My icons are all different. That is the option I use. My text-only option works as well. Vivaldi 32 on Win8.1 64. Of course if all you have on your bookmark bar are FOLDERS, then all bets are off.
-
My request for design is customization! As much as users love customizing their own shortcuts and settings, I believe we all want to customize our own design. This will probably be the last thing you add, but if we can customize appearance like we can customize functions, that would be awesome!
-
Oh well. I had hoped "VB-4525 Default keyboard shortcut update mess" referred at least in part to this bug, but no such luck; the latter bug still persists.
-
it's a bit hard to download when your internet is slow and the link doesn't support download accelerators/resume download
-
wow so ugly, i hope they fix it
