Feature requests for 1.7

@Pesala Or preferences for behaviour (right click is good, preferences to remove the x or disable confirmation... right now it's just one click and pouff).
-
@elypter Yes, at some point, Vivaldi should have the features to replace most extensions.
Now, here's another request. I know Vivaldi doesn't want to integrate their own ad-blocker, and they just leave it at that, but I'm not satisfied with how far that conversation went. What if Vivaldi integrated an ad-blocker that is turned OFF by default?
That would mean they could still delve in ads, but at least there's an integrated ad-blocker for those who do want it, which would be a heck of a lot of users. This to me just sounds like a more ideal solution than not wanting an ad-blocker at all for expression on the web and ads.

@dLeon It would make the page menu way too cluttered. What should be done is to make the menus customisable, then users can redesign the menus to suit their own needs.

Metalink support
It's a per-file metadata format used by many web servers. It contains hashes and alternative download locations amongst other things. The good thing about it, it's totally transparent and is based on http, it's backwards compatible to clients which don't support it.
-
@Ayespy Uhm, here it doesn't.
-
@elypter Still, just having an integrated adblocker, even with Vivaldi's own code and own lists would also be nice. It would be nice to be able to add lists too, so I could add the same lists I have for uBlock Origin and then I wouldn't have to use uBO.

First post here. I've been trying out Vivaldi for about a week and so far I'm loving it!
Here's the #1 thing I've wished for in other browsers I've used: I really like the Bookmarks Toolbar feature most browsers have but what I've always wanted is an option to have a double-decker or triple-decker Bookmarks Toolbar. Lots of us have plenty of space to spare on the large monitors that are common now so why not allow having more than one bar?
There are two ways I could see it working:
One way would be to have two or more completely separate toolbars, each with its own folder, and an option to display only the number the user wants.
The other way would be to just have the single toolbar with an option to wrap it around into two or more rows.
I can pretty much guarantee this would be a popular feature it it was added.

Earlier in the thread xyzzy pointed out the need for a bookmarks menu, like other browsers have. This is something I'm missing in Vivaldi as well. While a bookmarks side panel is good in some cases, in other cases I find I can get to the bookmarks I need much faster using a bookmarks menu. So having both a side panel and also a bookmarks menu would be desirable.
I tried putting all my bookmarks (a rather large collection) in a sub-folder and then putting that folder on the Bookmarks Toolbar. That creates a workable imitation of a bookmarks menu, sort of, but it takes several seconds to open every time, and makes the bookmarks organization kind of weird.
Anyway, something related to xyzzy's request that I've found frustrating over the years is that when using a bookmarks menu, as soon as you click a bookmark the menu will close. While this might seem logical, in many cases you want to launch several bookmarks from the same folder, but since the menu closes when you launch the first one you can't do that.
The request is that a better way would be to have the menu stay open until you move the mouse away. There would be no downside to doing it that way that I can see, and the menu would have greatly increased functionality.

It would be nice to have the "paste and go" functionality in the address bar available in all the search bars in the browser. If it's a good thing in the address bar why would it not also be desirable in all the other search bars?

The Speed Dial feature is a nice idea but working on a desktop computer with a mouse I don't really need the large thumbnails to click on. If there was a feature to turn off the thumbnails there would be room for hundreds of plain text labels. Having a larger number of text labels on the screen would be far more useful than having the thumbnails.

When searching the bookmarks it would be nice to have some means of seeing the folder locations of the search results. In Firefox I used an extension called "Sidebar Bookmarks Search Plus" to solve this problem, but I haven't found any equivalent for Vivaldi.
-
It would be nice if you could pin open the find dialog so it would stay open when you switched to a different tab. This would be very helpful when you're searching several tabs instead of having to open it for each one.
-
If you have "Open Bookmark Panel Items With Single Click" enabled you cannot shift + click to select multiple bookmarks to copy them (to for example paste them into an email). One solution might be to have separate single clicking options for both the bookmarks sidebar and for the big bookmarks manager in the start page. Then you could just use the bookmarks manager when you need to copy a bunch of bookmarks. This is the way Firefox solves the problem.
-
Related to above, if you have "Open Bookmark Panel Items With Single Click" enabled, when you are renaming a bookmark and try to click the cursor somewhere in the rename field it will launch the bookmark. The open bookmark with single click function should be disabled when the rename field is active.
-
I wasn't able to adjust the colors a way I liked them without leaving it hard to tell which tab is currently active. It would be nice to have an option to apply the highlighting color on the active tab.

When you add a bookmark to the bookmark panel by dragging the tab and dropping it, the list of bookmarks shoots up to the top every time. This is annoying because you often want to add several bookmarks into the same folder at the same time, so you have to add a folder then drag it back down, then add another folder then drag it back down again, and so forth.
-
A minor thing, but I would find it preferable if there was an option for the Xs on the tabs and other places to stay visible all the time. Edit: pafflick already requested this.
OK, that's all from me. I didn't mean to spam the forum but I decided to just go ahead and post all the things I've noticed since I've been using Vivaldi. Thanks for making such a great browser!

@Blueridge Already requested here.

@pafflick Sorry, I missed that. I voted for it on your post.

To implement a feature similar to Opera Turbo, it would be a good ...
