Widen the sweet spot of the close button?
-
I've noticed on native Windows apps and other browsers with Windows skinned close/max/min button, if you click anywhere in the red area of the close button, the said app will close. However, with Vivaldi, it seems you must click on very close to the "x" in order to close the browser. I'm so used to dragging my mouse to the upper right hand corner and using the boundary of the monitor to locate the close button, I always forget that Vivaldi is more particular in this regard.
Is it just me?

I haven't had any issues of that kind (I'm using Windows 10). Please check if this possible solution solves the problem for you.

I can confirm it's there, at least in win7, and never fixed so far, but VivaldiHooks provide a fix for it for maximized window.

Try to add this code to your custom.css file:
.window-buttongroup { margin-right: -4px !important; }
It will solve your problem

Same here. Waiting for the fix...

Did you try a possible solution in the post right above yours?

Someone has bumped this topic recently and it just reminded me that I have also stumbled upon that issue. I just wanted to let you know that I can confirm the bug for the latest version of Vivaldi Stable 1.8.770.50.
On my PC it works fine. But I also use Vivaldi on my Tablet - since it's a touchscreen device, I usually operate it with my fingers. Only recently I've used a mouse and discovered, that I'm unable to close Vivaldi when the cursor is moved to the far-right side of the screen.
It looks like the close button is shifted 1px to the left, as it's not even hovered while the cursor is on that edge of the screen. Though when the cursor is hovering the close button, there's no visual indicator of the button being actually shifted...
The main difference between my PC and the Tablet is screen resolution (1280x720 on the Tablet) and OS platform (32-bit on the Tablet). Both are running the latest version of 32-bit Vivaldi on Windows 10 (v. 1607). I wonder what might be causing this?

I find that I can close the browser with the mouse cursor at the extreme top (not at the extreme right), but not at the extreme right (whether at the extreme top or not). This is at 120% UI Zoom.
There is no problem at all at 100% UI Zoom (Vivaldi is maximized in both cases on 1920 x 1080).
Specs: AMD A10-6800K, 8 Gb on Win 10 64-bit • Snapshot 1.8.770.46

@Pesala You're right! I have set the UI zoom level on my Tablet to 120% a while back, to make it more touch-friendly. I completely forgot about it. That must be it...
