The 7.4 release is soon – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3682.3

@pesala: VB-97070 should be fixed by the next snapshot.
-
@erebos: Can you link to an example ogg that does not play. I tried a few like this one and they all seem to work fine

On my device videos on YouTube have a really high saturation which they didn't have before this update.

Too bad VB-116696 isn't a permanent remedy.

It would be nice to be able to set the VPN to work on specific sites. The sites I am a member of are giving warnings! Suspicious actions. Change your passwords. But I guess we'll hope for that in future versions.
-
@Pardus that should be implemented by proton devs... the extension is their, after all
-
Since when has the option to import passwords been removed? The vivaldi://flags #Password-Import option has been removed.

That one exhibits the same issue. It plays the file (it even triggers the Plasma integration widget in the notification area), but no sound is coming out (no signal is showing even on the audio mixer).
I first noticed it with all OGG files on Wikipedia, but then I noticed that all MP3s had that issue as well, for example on Wikipedia and Bandcamp.
YouTube plays fine, so I assume AAC files are decoded differently. -
@fahrenheit451 the flag disappeared several chromiums ago,
but you should find import/export atvivaldi:password-manager/settings
-
Don't understand in which release do you plan to include automatic picture in picture?? I see that there are few flags about it, but it doesn't work at all.

Since a few years (around 2021).
-
@erebos: It plays fine on test systems here, and the changelog item you highlighted changes nothing for a user who has upgraded from a previous version. CHR136-119605 is only fetched if you did not already have a working setup. Thus there is no change for you as an upgrading user. More likekly you have some local issue.

What new nuggets are in 7.4 I wonder?
-
You can do that in the Proton VPN extension. Go to the extension, and click on "Features" (the button is two toggles stacked vertically, with one on, one off). Look for the "Split tunneling" feature and add your websites there.
As far as I know, the extension only does exclusions, so it's "the VPN is on for all websites, except these I specify". I wish it was like the Windows app, which allows to swap the functionality.
Edit: as I was reminded kindly, split tunneling is a premium feature. You need either a Proton VPN Plus or Proton Unlimited subscription.

[Extensions] Supress automatic disabling of Manifest V2 extensions and the dialog warning (VB-116696)
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand. What does this mean?
-
@TyrionTargaryen Brief version: There is a message about deprecation of older extensions in newer chromium versions. This, and the force disable of these extensions, had caused issues in Vivaldi, so both "features" are disabled.
But split tunnelling is a premium Proton feature, which majority of vivaldi user hasn't.

Thank you! The wording in the changelog confused me.

I meant to add that info and completely forgot when I went digging through the menus to make sure the guidance was accurate.
