Maybe it's a stripped out Chromium to be compatible with old systems, but certainly with several security flaws. Use with a grain of salt.

@Catweazle ok try this page https://win32subsystem.live/supermium/ , i still think its ok as a backup. Latest Vivaldi browser is working good here on W11, no issues.
-
@stpvid1I belief that it works fine, any browser does it, but I prefer not to use it. I have currently 2 other browsers at hand (Zen and SSuite Netsurfer(this one also works in old Windows 32 bits)), but with different engines because of test if an issue is due to Chromium or generally for all browsers.

@Lepa, I am experiencing the exact same problems with the difference that the first one occurs only on my PC running Linux Mint 20, the second one on my Dell laptop running Linux Mint 22. This second issue has been around for a couple of releases now. The first bug only appeared after updating to v7.2. It takes Vivaldi about 7-8 minutes to open a dark window with a vivaldi sign in the background, then another 3-4 minutes to load the first page and get reponsive. If I happen to close the window, the same number of minutes passes to get Vivaldi running again, it doesn't matter how long the computer has been turned on.

Are you running mail? There's been a recent minor update which fixes slow very slow loading of the mail module... (I had that problem - slow startup then looooooong wait for mail to work - which seems to be fixed now).
-
No, I am not. I have left the mail part untouched yet. I only use Vivaldi for browsing. After updating to '7.3.3635.7 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit)' the problem of lengthy loading still persists. I will keep using Vivaldi anyway, I really like the way it is structured and organized, hopefully the bug will be fixed in future updates.

I'm not sure why you would want a list of 50 possible results, when you could have 10 or 12 that are actually relevant?
Because I visit more than 10 or 12 "relevant" websites? Often (meaning more than once a day) I use the drop-down to find a result in that is 20, 30, or even 40 entries down.
Sometimes it's because I can only remember a small part of what it was about, or even nothing at all. Or it's a site that I'm referring to multiple times for a short-term project, but I don't want it in bookmarks. (And yes, there are more than 12 of them. F'n astonishing innit?) I shouldn't have to open up history, which is slower and cumbersome.
I click the address drop-down, scan the results, scroll a bit sometimes, and I find what i want faster than with any other method.
This answer from the dev team is unacceptable. This is supposed to be the browser that respects my choices - that is what it's advertised at. Bring back the old drop-down behavior, whether as an option or not. The current behavior is a cut in usability, plain and simple.

Need ALL bookmark matching results

Please restore the "Drop-down menu priority" setting. I need to downgrade from version 7.3 to 7.1 to continue using this feature because the address bar's drop-down suggestions aren't intelligent enough. They consistently prioritize bookmark addresses that I rarely access over those I use daily.

Uncheck "Prioritize Bookmarks" in Addressbar settings and it should then be much more intelligent about what it prioritizes
