HID devices issue
-
@AlphaGeekV2 You mean the PWA created by Vivaldi work, but same address in a tab not?
-
@DoctorG Exactly! I was talking about PWA and I ended up testing with no hope, but it works there.
-
@AlphaGeekV2 Thanks for hint.
I will update bug tracker, so devs can check more.
-
Great news, the HID devices seems to work on the lateste version of Vivaldi.
-
@zookeeper Really?
If you check on the before mentioned pages you get the listed devices and you can connect?
As a regular Vivaldi tab or a PWA? -
@DoctorG I've just tried with a Ledger and Solflare wallet, USB window appears and the connection worked.
Just tried with Phantom wallet now, the USB windows appears, but it's still not working.
Tried also with a Meshtastic USB device, no USB window appears, but working on the PWA.
-
@zookeeper Thanks for testing.
Really strange, that some devices connect and some not.
-
@DoctorG Solflare as just been totally updated, can it be the extensions that mess around with some fonctions ?
-
@zookeeper said in HID devices issue:

I do not know, i can not test, and we have no internal testers which can check WebHID devices + extensions.
-
Just tried with another wallet and Ledger, Keplr, and it's working like a charm.
-
On usevia.app I see the UI for pairing the HID device, it appears as paired but the website still does not detect the keyboard
-
I have the same issue — my Wooting 80HE also shows 'pairing', but Wootility still can't detect the keyboard.
-
@Jyun890220 Still no fix; i fear such rare used feature WebHID/WebUSB has low importance.
-
Same issue with my wooting 60he+
-
Same problem and tbh this made me think about switching browser
4 pages of people having same problem since the fucking may of last year and still nothing done
-
It's sad to see this thread closing-in on its first year with no fix in sight.
-
As i remember with tab context menu: Install page as app… create a Progressive Web Application (PWA), start PWA and connect works.
Please test!
-
@DoctorG It works! It's good to know there's a workaround. Hopefully a full fix at the soonest.
-
@Xypher Thanks for feedback

We understand that PWA can be a work around (and just this), but you can't use PWA for extensions, so when you need a Chrome extension to use HID device, you can only count on luck ...
