HID devices issue

@Xypher said in HID devices issue:
were skewing towards the issue assumed having been sorted out via the previous snapshots.
Looks like that fixed issue in 6.10 was about the missing pop-up but not on not-connecting.
Sorry to lead you onto wrong path.
But i was not able to test with specialised WebUSB devices. -
@DoctorG Oh no worries! Thanks for confirming, still.

I will check from time to time the bug tracker or you ping me with
@DoctorG
in thread. -
Will do. Thanks for your help!

Hopefully this will get fixed.

I'm currently setting up Vivaldi and facing the same issue. Very pitty and I hope there is a fix very soon. Otherwise I would have to use another browser.

Seeing that this HID topic is open for quite long, I would like to ask if you can give a short update or if possible to provide an ETA. If there is a solution in the pipeline I would continue using Vivaldi. But if this takes longer I really have to switch everything to another browser, which would be a lot of work again and I would also like to avoid it.
This HID device issue is the only issue I have and I like everything else about Vivaldi so far. I guess there are many people interested to get a fix for this issue as it blocks a lot of interactions. -
Masterbug is VB-95733 "attempting to use WebHID API causes browser to crash"- Confirmed
No developer assigned, no ETA. -

@DoctorG When will this finally be fixed ? I see that this problem has been dragging on for you for a very long time and there is no desire to fix it.
There are already topics from September that websites can't connect to USB devices

Yeah, i use VIAL to configure my keyboard, i just started using Vivaldi and its annoying to have to go back to Opera to configure it. just posting this so maybe it gets more attention lol.

Many user can not use Vivaldi properly and get basically forced to use another browser. I'm not sure if this is a good approach to get more users. I also hope someone is going to fix it soon.
And good to put attention to it, I also think many people simply do not register an account for this issue. They just switch to another browser before they actually dive into Vivaldi -
I just wanted to say that I am also waiting for this to be fixed.
I don't even see why it takes so long, since it is extremely easy to reproduce, and it was introduced by some Vivaldi's commit since other browsers works normally. So few bisects in Git history should point to the commit that broke it...
