Vertical list tab stacking that Opera 12 had, with ability to set own keyboard shortcuts that activate it(not just ctrl + tab, but anything I set), with tab previews beside it, would really help complete the tab navigation control.

It depends on the fonts used on a website, and has nothing to do with the browser itself. That's a request you should make to the website's owner / webmaster / webdesigner...
You don't understand. I am talking about typing in text fields, like this forum post, or when creating a new blog post. I can type any text I want that's on my keyboard, and others with Alt + 0147 and Alt + 148 if not for the Numpad bug that interprets the 4 as Left or Back, and the 7 as Home, which replaces the current page!
All forums that I know of can manage to display curly quotes. Typing them is the problem.
In Opera I use shortcuts to type them, e.g. Ctrl W adds smart quotes to the selected text with cut and paste:
cut & Insert, "“" & Paste & Insert, "”"

@Pesala It's broken in Opera too, since I checked it in Opera and on the Google Fonts page to find out that those missing characters were not there.
IMO it should be considered as a bug. Though I haven't come across this issue till now, it's a quite rare occurrence (due to poor webdesign mostly, since every good webdesigner makes sure that their website is displayed correctly in every browser and a better webdesigner would never choose such fonts)... -
@pafflick Yeh. Thanks, but I know about this functionality. What about I talk, its permanent NOTcrypted DB or txt file in which Vivaldi will store passwords (instead cripted Login Data file, what anyway very easy may be encrypted). With such a file, I could customize synchronization of all need data...

[mistake, please delete]

@pafflick It renders correctly in Opera as my screen shot shows (and in Firefox). They both use an appropriate fall-back glyph for the l slash, while Vivaldi does not.

@Stardust and to see bookmarsk just use a panel
No, I prefer dropdown bookmark menu since classic opera.

Why do people NOT quote the post they are replying to? Why are we having 'private' conversations no one else may follow, unless we track back the posts? Is that a new trend in forums that I am not aware of? Or am I missing something...?

You said nothing about typing smart quotes in your post - you asked for enabling them, here is the full quote:
@Pesala said in Feature requests for 1.6:
Smart Quotes in Text Fields
It may not matter much for forum posts, but in blog posts, etc., it’s good to use correct typography. Please enable “double” and ‘single’ smart quotes in text fields, and for apostrophes.
What do you mean by "enabling"? The're not disabled. If you're asking for the ability to type them using the NumPad shortcuts, then how is this different from your previous post on that matter?
Anyway. I can type
[Alt]
+0147
in a textfield without any problems. It's just that I have the[NumLock]
always on, the issue happens only when the[NumLock]
is off. But - from what I've just learned on the Internet - you're not supposed to use the codes with the[NumLock]
off. That's why you're getting this issue. Same thing (with
[Alt]
+[4]
for example) happens in Opera 12 too (I forgot to mention that I use Opera 12, not the buggy Chromium based Opera 150 or whatever it's version number was). So it's not a lack of feature, nor even a bug. It's rather the OS feature misuse (it partially works, but gives unexpected results in certain cases). -
Move V-Menu button to the right.
(Right now it looks like a pinned tab) -

New hotkey - Tile selected tabs (vertically)

@dougunlocked my guess wasn't that amiss. Vivaldi drops all bookmarks indeed into a single file with a second backup file.

The characters listing on Google Fonts shows only the basic ones, thus it gave me the confidence to assume that the characters were simply missing (my bad).
They're rendered correctly on the Google Fonts page though (when you type them manually), so it still has to be the webdesigner's fault in some way. I'm not sure if it's actually broken in Vivaldi - it would require further investigation of the code and maybe the fonts, something that I'm not willing to do...

A while ago I filed a bug report for this feature. I do not know if it was a duplicate request, but you may want to look for "VB-20293 Locking a tab, so it cannot be closed by accident".
Will do, thanks for the feedback

@Pesala I agree with the proposed idea, but I think the suggested implementation is bad. What if you do it by mistake?
Then just reply No when the dialogue appears.
It's a method used by all Serif Applications. The creator of High-Logic FontCreator also implemented it after my suggestion.

Would like to be able to toggle tooltips as in firefox config "browser.chrome.toolbar_tips".
On some sites, especially forums it is annoying to continually get popups at the cursor.
