Well, you would have seen that she only registered "a few" months ago. However, that may be misleading

just curious what browsers ppl use i use 3 my self
vivaldi my main obviously lol
brave for my 2 spot
and then firefox have been on that one for 15 20 years lolBefore using Vivaldi, I used Opera 9-12 and before that Netscape Communicator 4.5-4.79.
-
Brave first as Im still learning Vivaldi with DuckDuckGo on hand if Brave goes down
-
While I love Vivaldi for personal browsing, Chrome seems to integrate better with some work applications.
-
I'm self-employed. Vivaldi is the only browser that integrates with my work. Every other browser takes more steps, motions, actions to accomplish the same amount.
-
On my personal laptop and phone I use mainly Vivaldi. I used Firefox before too, but after installing Linux I noticed that Vivaldi runs much better.
On work laptop I use multiple browsers. One application is open in Chrome, one in Edge, ticket system in Librewolf and then personal stuff on Vivaldi.
-
Firefox, Vivaldi and Mullvad Browser and on iPhone/iPad i use Safari or Brave. On my work devices Firefox and Chrome.
To me no one ticks all my boxes/wishes so i alternate either depending on task or more often just because one has started to annoy me and i need a break. So a "It's definetly you, and not me" kind of situation
-
Vivaldi
Opera
Edge -
I used many browsers, currently my mains are:
Floorp (based on Firefox/gecko) β for regular browsing, it has many features that i need, feature rich vertical tabs, sidebars and many other features (however, I don't use 99% of them)
When I need to visit a site, that works poorly in Firefox or doesn't support it, then Chromium or Vivaldi
I may switch to Vivaldi or Firefox soon. Probably, Firefox, i like userChrome.css themes, they use css on browser's elements and look very good (Vivaldi has CSS modifications too, but almost nobody makes themes with CSS)(noticed that this was an old discussion only now, hope that I won't be banned for necroposting, sorry)
-
I only use one at a time currently using Vivaldi for everything otherwise I'd get confused where my passwords are
-
@thedanikreal nah don't worry people keep it active it just looks old because of the post dates but that's not strictly monitored or limited at least that I'm aware
-
Switched from Vivaldi to Firefox.
- Gecko. I like Gecko. I've always loved it.
- Customization. Firefox is better in customization. CSS, JS mods: everything can be done easier in Firefox. Also, mods are stored in the profile folder, so they are not deleted after updating the browser.
- Sidebar. It has some drawbacks: there are no web panels, you can't add your own elements, and the panels reload after being opened. However, Firefox has a great addon called Sidebery, which is better than any native vertical tabs.
- Workspaces. Sidebery has Tab Panels.
- Tab stacking. Sidebery has Groups.
- Mail. One word: Thunderbird.
- Feed Reader. I'm currently using Inoreader because it has synchronization with the mobile app.
- Sync. Firefox has faster sync. Too often in Vivaldi, I had to click on "Trigger getUpdates" so that the tabs would finally sync.
- Speed. I like to play bullet chess on Lichess.org. There are countless chess games when I lost in time due to the fact that Vivaldi hung up at a crucial moment.
- Mobile Extensions. Nuff said.
- Open Source. I'm a modder, and when I want to find a specific function or see an example of how it's used, I simply visit searchfox.org and look at the clear code. And when I want to see what has changed in the latest version of Firefox Nightly, I visit treeherder.mozilla.org and can see every new line of code.
- AI. Yes, I understand that this is a sensitive topic for many people, but I have a different point of view. I support progress, and there is a similar division in the Firefox community. However, I am pleased with Mozilla's recent experiments. I don't use it often, but if it is convenient, I would.
Features that i don't need in browser: Tab Tiling, Calendar, Notes.
Feature that I really miss: Command Chains. but it's not worth staying on Vivaldi. And I also miss the sense of community that Vivaldi provides, so sometimes I visit this forum, read through it and write some nonsense

@aminought, I full understand it, the perfect browser don't exist, it always depends of the needs and preferences of each user. But I think it's very positive that Vivaldi won't follow the AI hype. AI can be very usefull, but the energy cost of AI is stratopheric. Apart of several other problems (copyright, privacy, reliability of responses, etc) it's also a big climate and environment problem.

@edieto I hope I'm not too late. It's been a while but I think I was a Firefox and Chrome user. That's been a few years ago.
-
@Para-Noid most importantly, what do you use now??
-
@Para-Noid naver to late i pop in here now and then to read what browser ppl like i hope to keep this up for a long time
-
Vivaldi mainly obviously, but i tend to keep a 2nd browser installed out of curiosity for its development. Currently this browser is Firefox again. Honestly, i seem to find other browsers more clunky to use.
-

Inoreader is great but required permissions for the FF extension are very agressive from privacy point of view
-
using chrome for 10 years here, but realized that vivaldi has so much features than chrome so i migrated and happy with it
