Autofill Settings – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3405.3

@Gregor
Hi, I cant find your report, you always add your user name, don't you?
Can you remember the title?
I test with this setting now: -
@mib2berlin Yes, I always add my username. I guess the title was "History not working". Anyway, I reported it again and got the confirmation VB-107980.
-
[Tabs][Settings] Make the tab memory usage info independent from the “Show Popup Thumbnails” option (VB-106403)
So what's this supposed to do? Should there be a separate "show memory usage" in the tab settings?
-
The browser still defaults to the Bookmarks panel when opened up.
The past behavior was to remember the panel you had open when closing it. I use Mail/Feeds quite a bit so I always have it selected.
Unsure if it's a bug as it may be intended behavior, but it would be nice to have confirmation.
Thanks for the new build! -
Found a weird bug.
- Open settings window
- Go to "privacy and security".
- Push "show saved cookies" button.
- Notice how every cookie can be opened/removed using mouse.
- Minimize the Vivaldi main window (tested when only 1 browsing window open).
- Back in the settings window, scroll down or up the saved cookies list.
= After scrolling the list, none of the cookies can be opened or removed (there's even no close button per cookie line anymore).
- Maximize/restore back the main Vivaldi window.
= The cookies can be opened and removed again.
So, when Vivaldi browsing window is minimized, the settings window is somehow affected by this.
Tested both latest stable and snapshot, in Linux.

@Gregor
Hm, I test this since a few hours and cant reproduce it. I change to other panels in between but if I go back it shows the actual page.
Maybe another tester or developer can.
Does it update in the history page?Cheers, mib
-
@Preorian only that earlier, memory usage not shown with 'show popup thumbnail' disabled.
Now, its always visible. -

Maybe there should be a "show memory usage" in the tab settings? For me it's just useless data, would prefer to turn it off.

vivaldi://history/ same thing.
-
It's completely stupid to save your personal bank card credentials in your browser.
-
@Rinaldus Yes, it is. It's completely stupid to have them on your computer at all, anywhere, in any form. I won't even carry a smart phone wallet.
That said, some people insist they have to have it one click away in their browser. It's their funeral...

My Bitwarden vault disagrees with you.
-
@Ayespy I keep my passwords, etc., in a plain text file, which is stored on the same Veracrypt virtual drive where I install Vivaldi as a Standalone version.
-
@ugly: This update fixed things totally for me. For the last dozens of updates, my History list only showed current date entries, unless I waited 4+ minutes for the rest to load. Now, upon pressing <ctrl +h>, Vivaldi instantly displays all history entries. My history file isn't as big as yours, only 383 MB, so maybe that's why mine is faster?

Thank you!

Can somebody please confirm this weird behavior:
Conditions:
Have verticals tabs on left side showing only the favicons.
Panel is on left side and in floating mode.
Have tabs in a stack.
Open a panel, any panel.
Result:
The active tab favicon is drawn over the panel. This happen with this snapshot.

Thank you, it's very good to keep mentioning this.
I also think this data has no place on a PC or cell phone.

Bitwarden is a very good "freemium open-source password management service".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitwarden
But I don't think they explicitly recommend entering this data into the vault. -
Thank you, Vivaldi, for this good, comprehensive update.

I am on Linux. After installing the version, I don't see any of my mail items anymore. Had to restore the previous version. Now I see them again. None of the messages were lost.
Very nice that you are on Linux!
But please don't downgrade the Vivaldi browser to Linux, either.
Vivaldi itself does not recommend a downgrade.
This can cause problems that are difficult to solve. Please try other solutions or wait for a new update.

It seems that the mail problem I mentioned in my previous post remains: some of the newly arrived mails are not included into the "unread" folder, although included and counted in the "received" folder. So I have to check the "received" folder to find all the new mails. The mail counters are OK and the difference between "received" and "unread" counter numbers are the new mails not included in the unread folder

@nutcracker
HI, maybe a silly question but do you have Auto Read enabled? If you open Unread the first mail, at least, is moved to Received automatically.
