Can you perhaps ask them to assign a developer
No they can't, they can only report and confirm bugs. The dev managers can allocate programmers to various tasks, volunteer testers have no such power.
OK I see what you mean, so it's all up to them. However, I assume bugreporters can at least kindly ask them to fix those bugs that have not been fixed in months.

I'm unsure whether it's related, but my bookmark nicknames stopped working after the 6.7.3329.17 version update, and I discovered that I could get them working again by re-ticking Bookmarks in the Drop-Down Menu Priority list. It appears that Bookmarks Nicknames (a separate item) has a dependency on Bookmarks that didn't exist previously.

I'm afraid it doesn't fix the problem that I reported. It's so weird that they forgot to fix this stuff, which should be quite simple to do.

Same here. Can't use bookmarks nicknames separately without enabling bookmarks. And it worked for me before last update.

I see what you mean, but to clarify, that's not the bug that I reported. Why would you like to disable Bookmarks in the addressbar anyway?
But the bug that I reported is about one character nicknames not working in an already active tab, so when a website is already loaded and you type in nickname c, it will search for it in Google for example. You can not fix this with changing the Drop-Down Menu Priority.

Bookmark nicknames
not working again after 6.7.3329.17 (Stable channel) (64-bit) update -
single char nicknames work for me after update to 6.7.3329.21.
//EDIT: Works not always. -
Single or double nicknames still not working for me after 6.7.3329.21 update.
-
Strange, first typing
d
works for me and i get the bookmarked page with the nick opened.
Typing second timed
the default search tick in.
Weird issue in 6.7 Stable.I updated tracker for bug VB-102765
-
Hmmm. Weird. Thanks for updating

@DoctorG If there is something highlighted in the address bar and you try to type the single letter nickname which will replace it the problem happens. If you use the "delete" or "backspace" key first to clear the address bar the nickname will work as expected
-
For me, even with a new tab and clean address bar, entering any nickname does not work.
-
Manjaro Linux, Vivaldi 6.7.3329.24 and single letter nickname still does not work.
This bug has been around for few months now and it prevents me from using later version.
I am downgrading back to 6.5.3206.48.

Awesome stuff, then I will finally be able to upgrade to Viv 6.7, since the performance problem is probably also fixed.

Yes correct, I also saw this. When you type c and then remove it and type c again, then it all of a sudden works.

Still there in 6.7.3329.31.
-
Could be that issue will be fixed in 6.8 Snapshot.
You can install Vivaldi Snapshot (what is a Snapshot) as Standalone install version, that will not tangle your Vivaldi Stable Settings in case of issues in Snapshot.[Address bar] Single letter bookmark nicknames not working (VB-102765)

You bark up the wrong tree. I do not fix bugs.
