@mib2berlin wow that was fast.

In the upcoming months, Google will sunset Manifest v2, breaking many extensions used by many Vivaldi users, such as uBlock Origin that offers a finer level of element blocking than Vivaldi's built-in ad blocker. Are there any updates on how the Vivaldi team plans to deal with this issue? The last update was posted in September 2022.
-
@Sdar This is an upstream issue in Chromium, reported by Google Chrome users as https://issues.chromium.org/issues/329678163 10 days ago.
There is actually a patch available, committed a month ago, but it has not (yet) been backported to Chromium 124; Chromium dev/QA requested that in the bug yesterday. No responses or approvals yet.
One should keep in mind that flags like that one are experimental. Bugs, even serious ones, should be expected, and are common.

Tabs move to workspaces ? Make Tabs move to group

Thx for the Update!

Thanks for Compact Layout. Cause I was about to kill myself.

@doctorg: after further testing, I've observed that the issue exists in the new Vivaldi only when I'm using a VPN connection.
As I said, on the same Windows 11 OS and with the same VPN connection, the previous version of Vivaldi browser, the latest Edge browser and the latest Google Chrome browser have no similar issue => only the new Vivaldi! -
@dineaca Which VPN software have you installed on Windows 11?
-
@stardepp It’ll automatically try to do the right thing. Which pages are unloaded and when will depend on how you use those sites and how the sites behave. For example, sites that periodically update their tab titles, for example your webmail, are less likely to be unloaded.

@doctorg
Sorry about misinformation: it's actually a private proxy server (not a VPN software) through which all the Internet requests are redirected to. -
@dineaca Which software is the proxy?

"helps reduce memory usage by automatically hibernating tabs that haven’t been used in a while."
How long exactly is "a while"? Also, does it hibernate tabs like Gmail, Whatsapp(web), Discord(Web) if no activity on those?Cheerios!

Honestly, I tested the "memory saver" and I still think the memory management is very weak. In fact, from what I see across the internet, management is poor in all browsers, Chromium-based or not.
The only application that really automatically and drastically reduces memory consumption, without hibernating anything, is Firemin created by Mozilla, but which runs on Vivaldi.
Please Vivaldi team, see how it is made and what it does in the system and deploy it natively in Vivaldi. It would be perfect. -
For some reasons PNG images are now displayed with the wrong aspect ratio, f.i. here:
This didn't happen in previous versions. JPEG images are still displayed normally. OS: Linux.
-
@doctorg: unfortunately I do not know and I cannot find out..
-
@dineaca Is that a PC in office or school/university?
-
@lcd047
Hi, the images on this page looks exactly the same in Chrome and Edge on Linux.
Please test this in the guest view, this except extensions and use the default settings.https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/
Can you upload a screen shot?

Thanks for the update!! Just a quick thing, I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but now I can't add any separators to my Notes. Is this a bug with the new update?
-
@mib2berlin: After some digging it seems to be a problem with a local library. Sorry for the noise.
