@mossman Do you have how many 6.6 Stable and Snapshot Standalone installs?
I was talking about the machines which all run 6.6 stable. I have one daily work laptop where I run a standalone snapshot, but the rest are all "normal"...

@mossman A regular Install for User works; seems my case is very special, i am testing many Standalones at one time where the update fails in all.

I was always wondering how smooth scrolling actually works, because i don't see any diference when enabled or disabled and when you have a long web site with text content i just get flashing background.
Example of a web site with long content and flashing background -> qbittorrent.org/news

Look this post and the following:

@doctorg: Try 24 hours

@doctorg: Standalones are governed by a sinle setting for all of them. You disabled updates in one of them and thus all of them.

No, i did not disabled in one of them, all my Standalones have activated Automatically download and install Update.
Now, as a new Stable was announced at https://vivaldi.com/blog/desktop/updates/ i started on Win 11 my 6.6.3271.55 Stable Standalone and did not see any update notification.
OK, i let Vivaldi run and will wait a few hours now, perhaps updater ticks in in afternoon. -
I'm using Vivaldi since version 1.x, I loved Vivaldi for years and and recommended it to all my friends.
But since round about one year, I'm no longer happy and using Vivaldi is a pain.
After boot, the initial start-up of Vivaldi is up to two minutes (!) until I can start using the browser. Once "ready to go", every click like switching between tabs or closing a tab takes between 10 and 30 seconds (!). In fact, I can no longer "use" Vivaldi as I lose so much time with waiting for a response…
I'm on rolling release for stable channel (currently installed version: vivaldi-6.6.3271.57-1-x86_64). It does not seem to be related to my system as Chrome and Firefox are ready within 2–3 seconds and tab switches happen immediately.
Is there any way how I can debug what is causing these massive delays to file a bug report?

Are you sure about that? Check your registry.

@Ruarí My idea now was to restart Vivaldi with command
vivaldi://restart
and after doing this five times the update was fetched from 6.6.3271.55 Standalone as i could see in program folder, and after regular close with Vivaldi → Exit and starting again all was fine with a new 6.6.3271.57.
