Bring the snapshot stream up to date – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 3291.3
-
@DonoV (This may sound like passing the blame, and honestely ... it is ) Actually, if you had tried the same thing in Google Chrome or Edge (Thanks for not doing that) you would have seen the same issue (for another couple of days, unless you were using a recent Beta/Early Stable), since it was a regression that was introduced in Chromium 122 (and 3256 was still based on v120, until a few hours after that build was made, when 122 was integrated).
The Chromium team didn't get around to reverting the change that introduced it until a week ago, and that change did not get backported to 122 until after this week's Chromium security update.
We did grab that patch when we learned of it, so that it will be in a snapshot if we release it before the next security/stability update of 122 arrives in a few days, but for various reasons we unfortunately did not get around to one this week. Sorry.

@yngve: THANK YOU so much, at last some informative response. I have reported that issue quite a few snapshots ago, only recently managed to test it out in a new/empty profile (and ran into it again). Now that I know this is an upstream issue, I'll just stfu and patiently wait for this to be patched into V (from what you say, probably 2, max 3 snapshots ahead), cause at least I know the issue is known - and even worked on.
Oh, also, why would anyone keep Chrome/Edge around anyway?

Friday on my mind

Same thing for me too!
I even tried to create a new profile as it previously helped in a same kind of situation, but not this time.
Edit: I tried in Vivaldi Stable and here it works okay, so it's definitely a Snapshot issue.
-
There are 3 regressions from the previous Stable branch that is present in 6.6 Stable and Snapshots (or is it just me?)
- When you create a new theme, it makes a Copy but it displays the Default theme even though the colours show something different

The side panel randomly collapses on it's own and doesn't remember the open state

In business, Microsoft has convinced companies to start imposing Edge for "compatibility" with Office365 log-in tricks... It's IE vs Netscape all over again!

@mossman
Yes, unfortunately, as always. -
vivaldi is more security if active options:
-
with my default vivaldi profile and my testing profile I get dead birds at spotify.com after I stream ~1h or longer. with my default profile I had also a RAM issue.
anybody else?Win10 22H2

You did never explain, how the feature works for you.
Please tell us more.
Any example settings and and steps how we can test the "feature" you mentioned? -

@avertcom I do not need a video how to install Vivaldi and how to activate two settings for themes.
I wanted a video how you detect with your theme settings a fraudulent page!

@DoctorG @avertcom
I agree with DoctorG on this.You are not showing how Vivaldi would know a website is fraudulent. You really should state your case more precise to know in what scenarios it would work.
I see an installer of Comodo Internet Security on your system. When you run your browser or any other program in the sandbox Comodo puts a green border around it. There is no need for Vivaldi to do that. Also how is Vivaldi is to know whether it is running sandboxed by Comodo or how is it supposed to know whether a website is fraudulent? The latter would require integration with Smart Screen like facility.
Your proposal is completely vague and lacks even the most basic of analytic clarity. The video does not bring any more clarityl it mirrors your insufficiently stated case.

As stated; that video does bring nothing new to the table. It simply mirrors what you already stated.
We have asked you to further clarify your case and we are still waiting.

So many Stable "minor updates" - the next snapshot should be impressive
