[Settings] Move Site Permissions UI to Vivaldi (VB-100958)
Nice one.
Is there anybody longing back to the Edit Site Preferences from classic Opera where the dialog could be called while at the website using the right mouse click (and not having to go to Preferences UI)?
-
@EricJH
if you use the site preferences from the badge in the adressbar, you get the chromium ui where you can edit the preferences. and they are (as expected) taken over to the vivaldi ui settingspage (and vice versa) -
Everything about the mail presentation that I was complaining about, is solved!
PS Can you introduce a selection about the "default" opening view, i.e. "unread" or "inbox" or "sent" or "as last time" etc. exact the way browser startup works? -
As always, thank you devs for all your hard work; we appreciate you so much. Sometimes I am amazed how far you have brought this software already. Vivaldi truly makes accessing the web a good experience.
-
Great work as always! Is there a chance that the fix to VB-102562 will be ported quickly to the stable channel? I have to cope with many emails every day.
-
Three pertinent fixes I spot straight away:
- Curious to see if the speed dial thumbnails stay alive now
- Funny that site preferences is now in settings when I was looking for exactly that option a couple of days ago! (when I discovered a "bug" I'd reported last year was actually an incorrect site setting)
- Also funny to see that there were problems with address bar "best result" when I had turned off this option in the address bar settings (thanks to a tip from @DoctorG ) since I was finding it so annoying recently!
-
I keep on saying this but Vivaldi (Mac) needs an update or two simply and solely based on performance. The development has been going like a train and I love it, but the performance has been in steep decline on all my devices.
Fix catch-ups like 3222.3 happen, I know, but I think Vivaldi has objectively becoming more and more heavy in the last 2/3 years; even upgrading my machines, the trend seems to be the same.I am extremely picky with my browsers, and I have no intention of leaving Vivaldi because I love it; but it would be amazing if a couple of updates were focused on performance and RAM usage - I'm sure some ️ nice marketing would make even these featureless updates as ️ appealing as the rest .
Thank you -
Speaking of search that doesn't do the right thing, I just noticed this glEtch in the search field, anyone else seeing this? Happens with every engine, not only google.
A second column of text appears under the "X"

@iAN-CooG
Hi, looks fine here: -
@mib2berlin you are using the address field (I see the shield icon)
I said in the search field. It also happens in the search field in the speed dial, 2 colums of text instead of one.
-
Great job with the fixes!
I found some inconsistencies with the address bar autocomplete recommendations. Here's my comment explaining it, and some steps to hopefully replicate it:

@iAN-CooG
Ah sorry but I get the same in the search field, one column. -
@ian-coog: Yes, I have the same issue.
-
Google Search issue
Google Search has no suggestion URL setting be default.
Which is yours? -

@Ruarí First!
He's first many times…Am I missing something or Google's Image Search doesn't work on contextual menu?
-
@Gif2D
Hi and yes, image search is broken, Google, Bing iirc.
We have a thread about with a fix:https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/93674/search-for-image-using-google-does-not-work/17?_=1705343993321
Cheers, mib

for most obtuse bug title ever?
... and yet I know precisely what it's being talked about. If I understand correctly however, it might not be fully fixed though - sometimes, when I'm entering something I intend to search for with the default search engine, a history item pops up right before I submit and gets opened instead of the search.
