@zalex108 Well, if you have an extension not syncing, you should task the extension creator.
-
Not sure since I Sync and Copy Profile files.
I would check in the Future. -

- Passwords (Enable a previous Flag)
-
The best idea for backing up Vivaldi is to backup the whole profile.
-
@Streptococcus Depends on OS which is important to get a backup.
-
Sure,
Anyway, you may need to export small/individual things like Flags, WebPanels or some other. Here can be find where they are located.
-
@Zalex108 Thanks for making and updating this guide as always
Just a couple corrections, since you mentioned me:
-
Password import flag is no longer missing from flags and can be enabled without the
temporary-unexpire
-
Password export is now available in V settings where you manage passwords so no need to go into Chromium settings.
-
Internal URLs are case-sensitive so
Chrome://Settings/Passwords
won't work. It needs to bechrome://settings/passwords
. IMO best to change all of them to lower-case for consistency. -
vivaldi://flags
is a valid internal URL so no need to usechrome://flags

@Zalex108 Search engines backup is not deprecated, it works fine. But nowadays Vivaldi should sync the engines, theoretically.

A simple but effective backup for standalone installations
About this "VivaldiBackup-script:"
- Copies your Vivaldi-folder (program &profile) to choice backup location
- Only manual action needed is to Rename "Vivaldi-1..xxx" to "Vivaldi-1.00(x+1)"... where 'x' is previous highest backup
- An Explorer-window pops up as a reminder for you to add "(x+1)" after completion
- All "pause-" & "REM" lines can be deleted (..but nice to keep?)
- bat-file must "Run as Admin" because of ROBOCOPY (tip: Make a shortcut to that 'Run as Admin')
- A folder named "Date-of-Backup" is created inside latest backup (only way to really know!)
- Exit Vivaldi before running bat
Instructions:
Copy text to a notepad-file, change your locations, save with extension ".bat" so it can be executed :Change this:
- Change "C:\MY-VIVALDI-LOCATION" to reflect where your Vivaldi instalation is located
(usually here: "C:\Users\CHANGE-TO-YOUR-DIRECTORY\AppData\Local\Vivaldi" - Change *C:\BACKUP-LOCATION to reflect where backup will go
- Change station (here: "C:) in the line after "ROBOCOPY ... "
- When finished, remember to rename the latest backup in series: [Vivaldi-1.00(+1)]
START %windir%\explorer.exe "C:\BACKUP-LOCATION" echo Next step is Moving files from previous backup [Vivaldi] to newly created dir [Vivaldi-1.xxx] REM Note:With pause command, must PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE REM Note: Only manual action is to give a new, higher number to [Vivaldi-1.xxx] to [Vivaldi-1.00(x+1)] pause echo on MOVE "C:\BACKUP-LOCATION\Vivaldi" "C:\BACKUP-LOCATION\Vivaldi-1.xxx" ROBOCOPY "C:\MY-VIVALDI-LOCATION" "C:\BACKUP-LOCATION" /E /COPYALL /W:5 C: CD\ CD "C:\BACKUP-LOCATION\Vivaldi" MKDIR Date-of-Backup echo Remember to apply new, higher (=more recent) number to folder [Vivaldi-1.xxx] >> [Vivaldi-1.001, ..002, ...003 etc] pause
