@fmatz
Hm, reinstall doesn't touch your user data, try the guest mode:
This except extensions and use the default settings.https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/

Vivaldi stopped working this morning.
So I try to turn off Kaspersky and the problem is gone, but as soon I turn it back I again can not open most of the pages. I wrote Kaspersky support and am waiting on a reply. I have tried to add Vivaldi to the exception but it did not work, what is even more strange is that Vivaldi does not appear in Kaspersky list of open applications.Yesterday I had an update to Kaspersky VPN software, which I never use, and did not restart my PC. I deleted that software this morning but the problem is still there.
On my second PC where I have the same Kasperky installed but did not do the VPN update everything works fine. -
@Hajduk123 Sometimes network filter of such internet security work bad. I had Kaspersky 7 years ago and was not able to resolve domains. After uninstall of KIS i got DNS back. Kaspersky fixed the bug after 5 months.
I am on Windows 11 Now and use only Windows Defender without any issues.Perhaps Kaspersky has a blocklist for programs and Vivaldi was too new.
I hope you will get a solution.Perhaps a reinstall of Vivaldi can fix something.

@DoctorG I have been using Kaspersky for over 10 years and no problems whatsoever up till now. I know that in the West there is negative government advertising, but let say that I know some stories that give me complete confidence in this software.
When I go to the list of all software in Kaspersky I see that Vivaldi is in the trusted category, and traffic is allowed. But in the list of active applications, even if it is running, it is not shown. Will see what their support says but the only thing I can think of is to reinstall Kasperski but will probably need to go and manually remove all the settings files.
I have reinstalled Vivaldi but no change.

I ignore what any government says about software, i can test and see myself when paid software is unusable. And Kaspersky was with their bad support. I was not willing to renew again 10 licenses for my office PCs and to get bad support and no solutions. That was a fact, not bad advertising.

i have the same problem

@Ntaros
Hi, too little information.
Kaspersky, too? -
@mib3berlin yeah exactly...
-
@Ntaros
Hi, if you use the free version, remove it.
If you have the payed version, register first before you remove it.
You cant use your old Key if you want to reinstall.
I am not against Kaspersky in general, I am against all third party security and cleaning software.Cheers, mib

@mib3berlin
I must delete the kaspersky? Other solution like white list or something? -
I have not gotten any replay from Kaspersky so far, guess their support for regular licenses does not work over the weekend
One thing that I noticed is that after I have a fresh install of Vivaldi everything works fine until I do not restart my PC (shut down Vivaldi). Then again the same problem.
Makes no logic to remove Kaspersky, it has more importance than a web browser. I am sure that in time the problem will be resolved.

@Ntaros
I guess disable is not enough, the OP test this but you can test this on your system.
Please read a few posts above about what has already been tested. -
@Hajduk123
If you remove a AV software the Microsoft AV is enabled automatically which is on par with any AV software.
Anyway, if it does not work install Kaspersky again, but no one is forcing you to do it, it's just for a test.
We have this issues with AV software and Vivaldi since version 1.0, it's always the same problem after a major update of Vivaldi.Cheers, mib

I am not against Kaspersky in general, I am against all third party security and cleaning software.I'm against third part security software that has to be installed.
If you prefer Kaspersky, as I do, for their detection rates and fewer false positives, you can download the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, their On-Demand Scanner. -
@AllanH
Yep, one can do this but I never need this since I kick Avira 15 Years ago.
I'm really considering installing Kaspersky into my virtual machine with Windows 10 to test this.
I have to update 10, this can take several hours and 10 restarts.Cheers, mib
-
@mib3berlin I already wrote that when disabling Kaspersky everything works fine.
Also when I do a fresh install of Vivaldi everything works fine up till the first restart.
No need to install Kaspersky on the virtual machine as on my other two PCs everything works fine. The only thing that was different on this one was that I had installed a Kaspersky VPN that I never actually used, but a day before the problem it had some update. At the moment I have removed that VPN software but the problem is still here.

@Hajduk123
Ah, I don't read your post carefully enough and install Kaspersky Internet Security and VPN.
Enabled/disabled VPN, restart Vivaldi, restart Windows 10 but no problem with the internet connection.
It is maybe the sequence, I don`t start Vivaldi before I installed Kaspersky but Vivaldi was updated in the background, no idea.Cheers, mib

Hi friends,
my problem is solved!
At first, deactivate and finish Kaspersky Security and
then check the Vivaldi again.
If it works then rename the following folder:
"C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report" to e.g. Report01
Then start the station new (no restart) and then it works!
Thanks, Fried
