It is the first such assurance in this now lengthy thread.
Perhaps naively thinking the best of people, I do think that, with a few exceptions, most people posting here are not being impatient but are rather trying to be helpful.
I would think that the more information collected about the environments the problem arises in, the easier it might be to narrow in on a fix.
Often with computers fixing a problem is not the difficult part. The difficult part is finding out what is causing the symptoms which are not the problem itself but rather those things which show that there is a problem.

Hi, I guess this is frustration about user not even read the last page of a thread.
I and some others have post 10 times the bug is reported but not fixed yet and the next post is: "It still not work for me", then it is a bit annoying.Cheers, mib

I tries on my Linuxes running with NVidia GT 710 & Intel HD 630 and never got this. May be it is because they run in a VirtualBox VM? Strange.
Perhaps my test system hardware is too slow.I suspect your issue is a timing problem with race condition while rendering the Speed Dial elements.

Apparently everyone reporting here has a different PC, a different version of Linux (Debian, Arch...) and obviously a different processor.
It is clear that the problem is with Vivaldi internally and not with a specific distro or processor.
Vivaldi also have similar happen on my Android phone for over 1 year. When I go into the quick access folders, it automatically "reloads" and automatically returns to the main screen with all the shortcuts disorganized into different folders. Then I go back, and when I come back in everything is fine.
It seems that Vivaldi has a serious problem with the main screen. -

we should stop making assumptions and it's not a "your issue", but a vivaldi issue

I thought that after 12 pages of numerous reports with all possible GPU+CPU+distro+kernel+mesa+OS configurations we passed that point of where it happens... it has been confirmed additionally for MS Windows, macOS, iOS, the only report we haven't seen yet is from someone using *BSD and Haiku...
so with that regard...
it's a VIVALDI

@npro It is a Vivaldi issue. Enough people can reproduce it. The devs have to investigate this nasty bug. No person want to click around until UI comes up.
I am not the person which tells users: "It is no bug as i can not reproduce". I am only a unpaid a volunteer who can not reproduce all reported bugs. So, please, do not throw rotten tomatoes or other veg on me. Or as in a text from Oscar Wilde says: Do not shoot the piano player.
But it is fair enough that i say:
I apologise for such nasty bug got into a release and killed usability of browser.

@DoctorG I think this thread has done its circle. No need to repeat about how one can reproduce it or not and to further investigate about why it does not, since everything is already extensively covered and known to the devs, who know their code better than anyone. The only thing I can see being helpful is that a skillful programmer studies the source code https://vivaldi.com/source/ and identifies the malfunctioning code before they do it.

and of course, since it seems that there won't be light in the tunnel anytime soon, the sooner you switch to another browser (for the time being) the lesser your frustration will be. I for example use Floorp for some weeks now, I felt sick and tired after just a week of using Snapshot 6.4
. Imagine this taking yet another month... this has been one of the worst experiences I had with Vivaldi for a long time. -

@saudiqbal: Not so much about the speed dial or Linux. This is just how you see the bug. It is a bug in Chromium and can display elsewhere as different issues in Vivaldi or other Chromium based browsers and is hardward/software dependant.
But yes we are looking at a workaround for now, for the speed dial since a small number of you see it there frequently.

6.5.3189.3 - The disappearance of images in the express panel was not fixed, and they also slowed down the rendering when entering folders on it...
