Is it any better after macOS 14.1 update?

Nope. Just updated to Sonoma 14.1 and the problem still persists. Vivaldi (Release version) doesn't open.
Interestingly, the Snapshot builds do open. I'm now beginning to think there is a problem with existing profiles (or other Vivaldi files) that, for some reason, won't allow existing release versions of Vivaldi to open under the new macOS.
I have a ton of settings (Tab Stacks, Workspaces, etc.) that can't be imported- via sync or moving files- so I'm hosed until a fix is created. It's been nearly a month so I'm losing faith in the ability of the developers to identify what is causing this issue for so many so a corrective action could be taken.
Starting with a new profile, while it might work for some, and is the lazy way to "fix", won't work for me. Still disappointed at this point but steadily progressing toward a world of using Safari and Firefox on my Mac Studio due to this problem.

New to Vivaldi Community.
Just thought I should say I have just upgraded to Sonoma and the first Vivaldi page opens with the text LETS GO but then immediately disappears.
I so want to use Vivaldi across my iPad, iPhone and Mac mini but have spent so much time trying to find what is wrong that my spirit is weakening to continue with Vivaldi.
Such a shame as I have used Vivaldi on Windows & Android but maybe I just need to delete Vivaldi from My Mac mini and try again in a few months.
-
Same for me! Running the newest version and it's not working again.
-
I am surprised that nobody from the Vivaldi Team has replied to say they are looking in to this problem.
It would be helpful if the Vivaldi Team had a webpage with a list of problems being looked into.
This could include Problem Description, Status (Fixed/Open/Not started),Solution,Advice for users

@ericole Have you been able to run Vivaldi with Sonoma yet? I have delayed updating to Sonoma.

Well, I just gave up and switched back to Safari.

@mhowie Tried just grabbing a fresh copy and installing it again?
Arm or Intel Mac?

The Mac Studios all run the latest Apple chips.
As noted earlier, I have a ton of settings (Tab Stacks, Workspaces, etc.) that need to be retained. As I can't open Vivaldi release version any longer, I can't save and the Tab Stacks and Workspaces still aren't included as options for Vivaldi account syncing.
If I uninstall/reinstall, wouldn't I lose all of my settings or are they preserved within the MacOS folder structure for instances such as what is currently impacting many?
To answer your question, I haven't yet done that for fear of losing all my longtime settings. If I'm missing something due to ignorance, please let me know!

The recently released 6.4.3160.41 Stable does not remedy this crash problem.

+1 for me

Very weird. I do not have that problem. mbp 2020

Assume you had an installation of Vivaldi in place when you updated MacOS to 14 (Sonoma)?
-
Yes, that's true
-
@nedhamson no

Shame Vivalid it doesn't work on Mac mini s it does work on my iPhone and iPad but I want a browser that works across all my Apple kit just as it works across all of our Windows machines, Android Phones and Tablets
I have removed Vivaldi from my iPad, iPhone and Mac mini and am using Duck Duck Go Privacy Browser for the time being.
I would love to come back to Vivaldi for the Mac when they get it sorted out.
-
Ok this is getting ridiculous. Deleted the vivaldi ios and and vivaldi browser on my mac. Moved on to Firefox and wont recommend Vivaldi anymore.
-
Uninstalled, did a fresh install of 6.4.3160.41, but it stopped working almost immediately.

I'm in the same boat. Going with Safari and Firefox on the Mac. Still using Vivaldi on the Windows machine as it still runs on that OS. Chrome on both platforms for Google hosted products (Gmail, Maps, etc.).
Doesn't seem to be much concern from the Vivaldi development community to get this fixed. Perhaps it's such a small subset of their user base that the resource required to overcome the problem doesn't make sense to allocate and it's easier to just let users migrate away.
