Probably is more useful for IMAP, where all mails are stored on the server and must be loaded: a progress bar (in the green area) like the one in the tabbar will be helpful to understand if the mail is actually loading or its body is empty, for example:
Also, there wasn't a setting to prefetch imap mails? I don't see it in 6.2

When there is an issue with retrieving a message's content, for example when offline, the following is shown in place of message body:
Maybe a similar message is required to indicate message body is empty or there was an issue fetching it.

@yojimbo274064400 Yeah I know that. But mails may need some seconds to be fetched from the imap server while online so a visual cue won't hurt.
