crazy-bonkers site-specific autoscroll page jerks.
with:
Vivaldi 6.2.3105.25 / Chrome 116.0.5845.122
atm, but this bizarre scenario has been occurring over the last few snappies.!=with: firefox nightly
where: one, count them one, specific site only, & therein, one-only of its two available aesthetic themes.
what: mouse MMB
autoscroll
[via--enable-blink-features=MiddleClickAutoscroll
], perfect on this site with the other theme, & at all other sites in the known universe across all time & space, had been basically intolerable due to continuous severe page-jerking all the time, & each time, MMB AS was invoked. curiously, trying instead to use keyboardpagedown
key, resulted in the page jumping down per key press, but then each time adding a small extra "jumplet" of maybe 10 or 20 pixels. scrolling just with arrow key still did not give smooth progress.within: long-term

toblock trackers
, eliminated the jerking.

reducing the blocker via UI from block trackers & ads to block trackers, eliminated the jerking. So, Crumpet, did you identify which adblocker listing you had added to cause this?

@TbGbe no, at that point i stopped, regarding it as enough of a win to live with, after several days [non-contiguous hours] of troubleshooting, testing, & swearing. as i said, that misbehaviour was unique to that one site only, & in one theme choice only, thereat. given i always run
uBO
[in Hard Mode], i feel it's an acceptable situation to slightly reduce v's native blocker level on that one site only, given that uBO is always there anyway doing the hard metres. i recognise, ofc, that by stopping there, a lingering question remains, but after the rough period leading to that point, i accept it.
