Status bar/hover link does not show

when I hover over links on web pages, the URL behind the link is not displayed on my Status Bar. I just upgraded to 6.1.3035.257 after being on a much older version for a long time.

Sorry. I did both very early. Status bar shows and buttons on it work but the area where the URL for hovered links should show stays blank.

@oldfart88 Does your Status Bar have a "Status Info" field?
Please try to make a screenshot or better a screen recording of what you're seeing.

<g> The handy Vivaldi screen capture button doesn't function when you're in the dialog box. Anyway, I can right-click in the Status Bar area Edit/Customize Toolbar and my status bar and Toolbar Editor looks like yours. I see the Status Bar information area when I enter the edit mode but nothing ever appears there during normal operation.

@oldfart88 Really strange. I guess something has broken in your profile when upgrading from a really old version. I can't remember any other reports of such an issue.
The Status Info field is where the URL should show. Are you sure it's not there? Is this only on some sites, or all sites?
Does it show properly in a clean test profile?
https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tools/user-profiles/I guess your only recourse at this point - if it works in a clean profile - is starting fresh and migrating your data over to the new profile. Using Vivaldi Sync is the easiest way for most data.

It doesn't work on any sites, including this one. I maintain 4 open Vivaldi windows with close to 200 tabs among them and it doesn't work on any window.
I hesitate to do anything like add a profile. I depend on Vivaldi too much to take a chance of messing up my nicely working profile. Except for the URL info in the Status Bar. I miss that!
I knew there's a Windows screenshot but I never use it as virtually all screenshots I ever need are of Web pages and Vivaldi has the best tool for that! Thanks for the reminder of where the M/S thing is! <g>
I have an old laptop that I might try your clean profile suggestion on.

@oldfart88 The clean profile is only for testing. It does not mess with your regular profile. Please read the doc I linked as well as step 3 in the troubleshooting guide.

@oldfart88 Right-click on the Status Bar to edit it and restore it to the default.
