Tracker - site specific exception (or white listing)
-
I have my Vivaldi Content Blocker set to blocking trackers and ads by default for all sites.
For one particular site (e.g a forum), I wish to add an exception not to block tiktok.com trackers.
However, I noticed that if I add tiktok.com to the exception list, it will actually whitelist tiktok.com for all sites.
this is not what i want, i only want to white list tiktok.com for the particular site.
How can I go about doing this?

@duhduhduh Hi, you have misunderstood how the blocking exceptions work. They only appy when you're ON the site listed in the exception.
So if you allow ads+trackers on
tiktok.com
it will allow them on the Tiktok site. The blocker is just not active on that site.It is possible to not block request to Tiktok FROM another site you're on, but it's more difficult and requires making a custom blocklist file.
I suspect what you're talking about is embedded content, not "trackers".
Do you have an example for this "forum" site and what content you want to show? -
@Pathduck Thank you!
I guess I have indeed misunderstand it.
You are right that it is the embedded Tiktok video content that was being 'blocked'. There seems no way to easy way "unblock it".
What are other ways we can do so?

@duhduhduh Embeds are different than blocking ads served directly from the site itself, as embeds are in an iframe loading the remote site.
Why can't you just turn off the tracker blocker for this "forum site" you won't give the name of (for some reason)?
If you won't give the name of the forum, I will have to guess and might be wrong since I can't test any solution myself.
What you could do if you want more control is create a custom blocklist with an exception rule something like this:
@@||tiktok.com^$domain=yourforum.com
This should allow requests to Tiktok from your forum site.
In theory at least. You might have to add the custom file to both Ads and Trackers block lists depending on your setup.If this is too complicated, too bad. Just whitelist your forum.
