I know that Multi Login or Private Tabs are already planned for future Vivaldi releases, however will it be in 1.4?
Thanks!

Tab color resource:
currently, the tab color seems to be detected in the favicon by scanning for the most dominant color. This idea is good but, for mobile devices there is already the possibility to let a web developer tell the browser the ui / tab color.
Source: https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/design-and-ui/browser-customization/theme-colorI think, that the tab color should be defined with the theme-color meta tag. If that is missing in the code, you could use the favicon interpretation as a secondary solution.
I hope you like the idea.
Good work until now. Vivaldi is my new favorite browser. Keep going

Add "search with" and i`ll be happy

Hi,
I have the tab bar at the side and some pinned tabs.
It would be niced to have the pinned tabs as icon-only in one row. See image for example.
Greetings,

Hello there.
I am currently rather satisfied with Vivaldi. Still there are a lot of things I would (optionally) change, and two in particular strike me out as relatively weird in comparison to other browsers and don't sound like huge problems to implement.
When Vivaldi is asked to download a file for opening, it first downloads it as usual (to the standard download location) and opens it. The file does not appear to ever get deleted. While I can see potential uses for such a behavior, I expected the regular possibility of downloading a file only for the purpose of opening it right now, typically by saving it in the system's temporary file area (for example, when I treat that download as more or less something that should have been available as a page but wasn't). I'm not sure whether this should be a preference regarding opening behavior or a separate button when a download happens.
The other oddity is that Vivaldi doesn't allow me to mute a tab when it is not currently emitting sound. I can sort of see that adding this option to a silent tab creates some confusion. Since Vivaldi is supposedly a power user tool by design, I don't think this is much of a problem. On the other hand, a tab can be expected to emit sound prior to that happening (for example, in case of started or paused videos lacking a volume control, or based on prior experience with page's scripts).
At the very least I would like if someone would direct me to explanations regarding why things are how they are right now.
Thank you for your attention.

I should think not. These are both much larger coding projects than a single decimal-point upgrade.

I would be very happy with a fix for the excessive cpu/disk usage.
But more specifically, what I'd want is not THE one big thing, more the million little things (the "polish").
Well, actually, I lied, I'd really love that RSS manager. (And I have to say, I love that integrated Opera's adblocker, kind of a killer feature).
Anyway, thank you very very much for your hard work. I still remember the day I tried Vivaldi the first time; back then it was a while that I haven't enjoyed browsing (since O12).

please add feature to remember bookmark panel scroll position, and ability to call external downloader from download popup, I really need these 2 features, in Firefox I use them a lot, thank you devs

Hopefully you guys will roll out the window drag/detach feature soon! Here's my current wishlist:
- In Settings -> Downloads, have a Browse button to select the default download location instead of just typing in a path
- Downloads show download speed and source URL it's downloading from as well. If it's not possible to fit all of that in the UI, maybe have a pop-up box show up if you right-click or hover over a current download to show additional information about that download.
- Plugin click-to-play option (for both Flash and HTML5 if possible)
- Javascript options/controls
- Confirm exit if downloads are still running in background
- Editable right-click menu for links. When I right-click on a link to open it in a new tab I prefer to open them in the background but the current menu has that option listed 3rd whereas I'd rather have it be the first option like most other browsers do. Since different people have different tastes it would be nice to be able to edit that menu to re-arrange the options.
- More optimization for Youtube and other streaming video?? I'm not really sure if it's true or if it's just my computer but it just seems to me that watching videos in Vivaldi seems to either take more resources or is buggy in some way with its playback

Address prediction - domain first
One feature I really miss from Firefox, which I can't find a way to replicate, is that the address autocompletion feature starts off with only recommending the "host" part of the URL.
For example:
Typed: goo_
Firefox: google.com/_
Chrome: google.com/long-ass-search-url-that-I'm-no-longer-interested-in -
PLEASE, PLEASE - finaly make Vivaldi CUSTOMIZABLE and CONTROLABLE!
Problems:
- Disk Cache is growing into gigabytes of space with heavy browsing
- by default chromium/vivaldi runs a process per web page , which is becoming crazy if you do a internet search and open tens of pages to find information (50++ tabs are not seldom by me - that is why I need Vivaldi, and IE, Firefox, etc, is not enough !! )
So I am using "process-per-site" option to save RAM and reduce number of processes (maybe somebody wants to use "single process" as well)
Current Solution:
- yes, you can add chromium command-line switches to limit the cache size and number of processses into the shortcuts (talking about Windows),
Problem Again:
- there are different shortcuts in 4-5 different places on Windows (Start Menu, Quick Launch, Desktop, Custom Launcher, etc.)
Do you want to synchronized switches in all of them?
New solution needed:
- sure it would be nice to integrate this options into the settingsโฆ.
- But the quick and efficient solution can be to use a plain text config file stored with the Vivaldi instance, where multiple commmand-line options can be stored. This file should be read at the start-up and options from the file applied as if they were supplied in command line.
I guess it will be easy, robust and elegant advanced level customization solution for those who want to tweak the browser and is not afraid reading chromium docs and experimenting with options.
Thank you for the great browser and considering another level of customization

- extended version of about:config with the load of choices the Ol'Opera [v12.18 and be4] used to have
- personal info page where you can fill in some frequently asked personal data that most forms use [also like Opera 12.18 and be4]
-
[ol]
- Vivaldi Notes: import / export to OneNote, Google Keep, and Evernote.
- Extension toolbar support. Potentially a limitation of Chromium-based browser engines.
- Added screenshot of Note integration with side panel and direct editing.

1. A proper bookmarks drop-down list like the one old Opera (12.18 and older) and Internet Explorer have.

2. The ability to automatically open the Downloads TAB (NOT the side-panel) when staring a download.
3. More info available on the downloads tab (like in opera 12.18),

I don't know, if it is already posted. Didn't find it.
But there is maybe a bug with the drop event. It will not be fired.
Google Chrome works, so it shouldn't be a Blink problem.

I would like to see some additional work on the reader mode.
First off, it's buried in a menu and I didn't even know it was available until I found it by accident. As I read a lot of information online, it's very handy to have to cut down on my eye strain.
I'd like to be able to either access it with a keyboard or mouse shortcut. Readability app lets me use the ~ key to access their mode.
Can we change the screen color to black with white text to further cut down on eye strain? Can we change the font or modify the size of the letters on screen? Can we set it so that we can turn images in the main body of text on or off?
Firefox has a very nice built-in reader mode that you can access with a single mouse click that lets you choose between several different fonts, screen colors (white on black, black on white, and a sepia tone on cream) and change the size of the letters. It's extremely helpful on some mobile sites when I access their mobile browser on Android as well. I'm okay with using Readability, but something built-in would let me get away with one less add-on to my browser.
