Importing / Copying Mail and Feeds Accounts?
-
Hi there,
So, as you can see in my signature, I run a dual-boot system on my laptop; and in fact, due to a recent issue involving an update, I have started using Feren OS more actively in the last few weeks. Before this happened, I was a regular user of Vivaldi Snapshot's Mail and Feed Reader in Windows; and I currently have it set up to fetch mail from ten different email addresses (various purposes, both business and personal). I don't really want to have to set these up again in Feren OS; so I was wondering if there was a way I could copy over the Mail and Feed Accounts from the Windows install of Vivaldi to Feren OS? I'm aware proper Import/Export options are still in-progress, but if there is another method, I'd really appreciate it ^^

@crimsonshade: I am in the same boat. I use seveal Ubuntu LTS 20 workstations and a Macbook Pro and run QMEU/KVMs for various OSes (win10, kali, fedora, macOS, etc.) and firewall windows in a VM. I use Thunderbord currently and am able to import accounts and contacts and they stay in sync. I would like the same contact database and mail accounts if I am going to consider VIvaldi Mail.

The head honcho of Vivaldi, @Ruarí, has confirmed in another thread since this one was posted that being able to import Mail/Contacts/Calendar etc. from one Vivaldi installation to another IS part of the plan; but it's still not an actual feature as yet. I remain hopeful we'll get this sooner rather than later.

I want to copy email accounts from one Vivaldi on linux installation to another.
Is there not a config file somewhere that hold the email account details that I could copy over? I don't even care if it doesn't hold the passwords.

Hi, it seems no user know exactly which files and folder need to copy mail accounts over.
You need five minutes to create five mail accounts, if you don´t use more than 2-3 accounts recreate them is much easier and you don´t mess up your system.
You can copy the whole user profile over to another system, this work except for passwords.
If you not have finish your setup on the new system move or delete the profile folder "Default" and copy it over from your old system.
I tested this several times.Cheers, mib
