Extra click to start videos
-
Hello guys,
So first of all, this is for my Windows 7 computer. Which means this is about an older Vivaldi Version since there are no updates anymore.
Vivaldi 5.6.2867.62 (64-Bit)
User-Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/108.0.0.0 Safari/537.36
I know there are a lot of risks. People tell me everytime. However, there are certain things I just prefer using Win 7 for. We don't have to discuss that please.
Now to my request:
Normally a video starts after you open the link. And I would like to change that. I would like to have the way that the Video doesn't start after open the link, but requires an additional click on the video to start.
Of cours there are serveral chrome extentions that manage to stop a video at 0:00.
However it still plays a half of a second of it. So some videos will play some sort of sound. And that can be pretty anoying. Especially if you haven't adjust sound volume yet.
So I thought there might be a way to do that on the browser's settings. Couldn't find an option in the normal settings though.
So I took a look into chrome://about , But I need some guidance for that. I would appreciate some help.
By the way, chrome://about turns into vivaldi://about after enter. But copypaste vivaldi://about into the address bar doesn't bring you there. Just so you know.

@darkarth Click to play is missing in Chromium core settings.
And a extension is not maintained anymore.Sadly, a missing feature in Vivaldi.

Sadly, a missing feature in Vivaldi.Okay then. Thanks anyway for the "click to play" term. Helped me to find a script that works with tampermonkey. Only for youtube though.

@darkarth Ah, i had not searched for UserJS.
Thanks for this tip. -
Downside of this one seems to be that it also includes playlists to stop.
I find another one that seems to be as reliable for stopping immediatly. And it doesn't effect playlists.
However it works a bit different. It has it's own play buttons at the right side of the window. And the second one has different function.
Not sure how it works exactly. But I guess it's at least a better alternative if someone uses playlists much.
