Minor update (3) for Vivaldi Desktop Browser 6.0

@Commaster said in Minor update (3) for Vivaldi Desktop Browser 6.0:
Since this update I am unable to open multiple chat popouts (for different channels) on twitch.
After opening the first one it merely focuses it on further "popout chat" clicks.
This worked in 6.0.2979.18-1.OS: Ubuntu 22.04.1 + 5.19 kernel.
Sounds similar to my problem with saving more than one attachment on outlook.office.com...
I think something is broken on sites with dynamic scripted pop up things.

Oops! Definite regression: Amazon Prime Videos no longer working...
(BTW: Is this really the case?)

@OakdaleFTL
Hi, I can play Prime videos on Vivaldi 6.0.2979.22, Linux and Windows 11.
UHD content from Prime and Netflix never worked with Vivaldi, only Chrome and Edge can play these 4K content.
These videos are so rare it dosen´t matter for me, makes also no sense to watch a UHD documentation on your laptop anyway.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin So: Not related to the current problem, which would be just a recurring regression? That makes me feel much better... Add to that that it seems to be Mac-only makes it almost easy to take!
It should help finding the fix, that the Snapshot 3023.3 has the same problem...

Something new: Crash on waking from sleep... With and without Mail enabled. Every time...
Need I file a bug report?Sorry. Wrong forum...

Please provide at least a couple of older releases in the repository so we could downgrade using a package manager in case of such breaking issues.
Thank you. -
@Commaster
Hi, you cant downgrade Vivaldi without breaking your profile, it´s kind of working at first view but unexpected errors or strange issues happen.
There is an archive for older stable builds but be aware of problems later if you overwrite your existing profile.https://vivaldi.com/de/download/archive/
Cheers, mib

Oh nice! Would be great to have them in the repo for the package manager.
I assume the profile issues happen when you downgrade a lot, like to 5.8. But I'm merely interested in reverting to 6.0-minor-update-2, which didn't have the issue I described.
-
@Commaster And downgrade is problematical if in Vivaldi its Chromium core major version changed to lower one. Such downgrade could give you weird issues in the browser. I would never downgrade.

Had to downgrade using the provided archive link to solve the breaking issue I'm having:

@Commaster I guess as downgrade from core 112.0.5615.205 → 112.0.5615.180 could not breaks so much, but who knows, you should watch.

Since no-one else seems to mention it but my wife is having trouble downloading multiple attachments from her work mail again today on another machine I have reported this odd and annoying bug on office.outlook.com:
VB-98492

VB-98492
This weekend I discovered the source for this annoyance and was able to fix it. It turns out that there was a per-site setting for office.com - automatic downloads - which was set to "block" instead of "ask (default)" in my wife's profile (and presumably this is synchronised since we had this on more than one device).
I can only guess that some time in the past an unexpected pop-up appeared which was dismissed with "don't allow" - and that set Vivaldi to permanently block.
In any case this isn't really a bug after all, so I'll send a message to the bug-reporting system...
