Keyboard Shortcuts not working

I cannot get any of the keyboard shortcuts within Vivaldi to work on my desktop. I have tried to close tabs with Ctrl+W and Ctrl+F4 and nothing happens. I cannot copy and paste via shortcut or use my keyboard for anything other than entering text.

I tried changing keyboard shortcuts and the new one did not work either. I restored defaults and nothing. I uninstalled and removed all preferences and reinstalled and nothing.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

@DoctorG I do not think keyboard shortcuts live in the Shortcuts file. I'm not sure what Shortcuts is for, I think for PWA shortcuts?

Keyboard hotkeys live in Preferences (JSON) under the vivaldi\actions\0 key, so to do a full reset this file this file can be deleted - but will of course also reset a lot of other settings.

No idea why the user would see no hotkeys working at all. If user has already tried removing all settings they at least should be able to live with deleting the file Preferences.

I tried both of those actions. Deleted the shortcuts file and nothing changed. Deleted the Preferences files and it reset Vivaldi preferences to default, but shortcuts are still not working at all.

Really strange. Please try in a new profile for testing.

If it still does not work in a clean profile, there must be something else on your system blocking this, some other software or possibly keyboard driver issues... no idea.

Also make sure you have not accidentally hit the Disable Keyboard Shortcuts key - although, that one is by default not set so would be hard to do

I tried a new profile, but it still didn't work. Then I found the settings that you showed and sure enough the option to enable keyboard shortcuts was not checked. Strange that the default for that seems to be off, but it is what it is.

I feel dumb for missing such a simple setting fix. I know it happens, but I should have caught that as many times as I looked at the settings page.

Thank you for your help, sorry to have wasted time on such an easy issue. But all is working now.

Pretty sure that's not the default... but OK, glitch in the Matrix I guess, it works for you now
