@wetware05 Every fix comes with a potential to break something else (and frequently does). These is no sense in taking fixes like this straight to stable if one can avoid it.

Is there any method of creating a program that minimizes new bugs/regressions? I get the impression that the developers spend their time mainly fixing bugs that they created themselves, which is very inefficient.

Hi, there are several hundreds reports a month and a bit less are resolved. Even when 50 bugs are created by new features or regressions it doesn´t matter much.
The problem is the most reports are not bugs, there are caused by extensions, third party software, broken profiles or user errors.
I reported a bug as I cant add any mail account but it was Avast blocking this and it take me a while to notice that.
Every report have to investigate, test from different testers on different platforms and this take a lot of time.
By the way, the developer run ten thousands of automated tests for every release, every software company does this.
I am waiting for a bug free Windows since Windows 3.1 but it does not happen even they have thousands of developer and test suites.
I investigate maybe 20-30 reports a week in my part time, every tester does but it is not enough.

          Cheers, mib

Vivaldi Sync has been having connection failures for several hours now (SYNC_SERVER_ERROR (HTTP 500)). I've seen this happen lately.

                    Hi Everyone,
I thought the address bar dropdown area was supposedly 'fixed' with this snapshot version, at least for me it's still not working properly. The dropdown arrow appears where it's supposed to on the far right end of the address bar but it's grayed out and when I click on it nothing happens. Is anyone else still having the same exact issue ?

                        Hi,
While I appreciate you posting this, I'm rather confused as to what the purpose might be ?

Many thanks for the new feature Multiple_Win in Win_pane, it is highly appreciated, BUT TWO PROBLEMS:

1/ UI/feature bug - when on "Window_pane" there is no indication in which window in the list I am currently on, neiher which item/tab, because the indicator (dot) for active tab is present for each respective active tabs in their windows, so there are many. Maybe a bigger dot or right arrow symbol can help?

2/ The old behaviour (only one Window with its Tabs) should be still available as direct filter/selection, ie not option in settings. Can be implemented in UI two ways:

A/ the current MultipleWin behaviour would not replace the old and will be as NEW pane/version icon in the left icons column (one_win_icon for old and two_win_icon for multiple)

B/ in the heading of the Window pane would be several buttons for switching modes - current_WindowTabs_Only, all_WindowsTabs_shown and ideally also mode show_only_selected_Windows_option - which this third mode would be a filtered version of the second/multiple.

Actually I would appreciate A and B implementations together.

Maybe one more solution for now:

As there is function to select an item in the list, which is shown by color inversion, the current TAB in the current window in the pane could be preselected/marked in the list such way and maybe pane contents to be scrolled to show this selection if not visible due to the many items...

Of course a kb-shortcut and context menu item for this would be highly appreciated.

Apologize if these my posts are at wrong place.
Vivat Vivaldi and Vivaldi Team! Many thanks.

bugs in Window_pane (option in settings: Activate in single click = disabled):

1/ when items-tabs from multiple windows selected, the context menu item <Save as Bookmarks> does not save anything.

2/ when window in pane clicked, the context menu item <Save All as Bookmarks> saves bookmarks from current and not the selected window.

                              WORKAROUND for 1:

                              • Select (via Ctrl right click) desired items from multiple windows into one selection set.
                              • Move them (the selection set) into same Window via Right-click > Stack_#_Selected_Tabs
                              • Wait until these items are moved into the stack in a Window
                              • Right-click the stack > Save as Bookmarks
