Unsolved TestFlight (iOS Snapshot Version)???
-
I saw that there are hints here and there that the iOS version of Vivaldi will available in near soon or in future.
My question for this Topic is about the Snapshot version of the Vivaldi for iOS as it only follows the TestFlight for publically test the beta versions in Apple Devices but the TestFlight will be restricted to 10,000 users.
so, if an iOS is on the way, what is the probability of getting into beta testing?

one moth ago the iOS version was promoted to "in progress" - how long will it take to get the first TestFlight version? with Vivaldi you never know, I doubt that we'll see replies going beyond the usual "when it is ready" - and considering that every other browser iOS version is way behind its android version - and everyone of them be it Firefox, Opera or Brave has much a much bigger team than Vivaldi - I would be very surprised to get a at snapshot level a browser which can be a default.
What I am trying to say is that I would not be too worried of being left out of TestFlight - it would seem obvious that the first who have registered with their e-mail will be the first to get in - and of course I am curious to see what browser we will get, since browsing on iOS is depressing - but I repeat myself: I guess the progress will be very slow. -
Today I have had a chance to try Vivaldi's android version and I have to say that I'm blown away, not being my device I could not do an extensive test but I am really impressed and while I realize that when the first iOS snapshot will be available for obvious reasons it will be far from this level of refinement CAN'T WAIT!

@sbv95 Vivaldi usually don't give ETAs on such things.
Guess a snapshot (public beta) package will come when iOS version will be published (to overcome the 10.000 users limit).
Alpha versions of iOS, probably under testflight, will be restricted to internal testers (sopranos).
As far I know, there are only one or two ios devs in the vivaldi team. -
Vivaldi won't commit to any dates for when it will be ready for testing or general availability. Sorry. Don't expect it to be done tomorrow.
I can confirm that it is actively being worked on, though.

This is interesting: https://www.macrumors.com/2022/12/14/apple-considering-non-webkit-iphone-browsers/

@Judmarc it was expected, Apple needs in 2024 will need to comply with new EU rules, EU iOS users can expect a year from now to use a real chromium browser on their iPhones, it seems that outside of the EU it will take longer - and knowing how slow Apple is with new stuff it could take forever.
In the short term could it be overwork for browser companies? they will need to keep alive the webkit version of their browser - for the markets outside the EU - while porting/updating/etcetera their real browser to iOS - the smaller the company the bigger the trouble I guess.
If Firefox - like its android version - will allow uBlock -
I came here looking for test flight info as well...

ε(´סּ︵סּ`)з+1. Hearing how great the android version is makes me want this. Broke my sync between mobile and desktop cause of how good it has been using it.
