[Linux] White context menu with dark theme
Very nice. Thanks.
-
[Settings] Add a “Use Monochrome Icons” option (VB-93327)
Thank you for that. Settings are now much better with my themes.

It would be perfect if VIVALDI had the same theme as OPERA GX with its very nice interface [...]
We can't have the exact same theme dud to copyright and other fun legal stuff. What is it about the OGX theme that you like so much?

Isn't OGX just emulating the soundscape of typing on a mechanical keyboard? Why not just get a mechanical keyboard if you enjoy that typing experience?
You can find third-party freeware programs that do this too.

@Pesala said in Finally Friday – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2867.22:
I am still having problems with disappearing notes.
Could you please provide more details on this problem. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help us identify steps to reproduce this issue.
Do you use sync and have multiple instances of Vivaldi open at the same time? Does it happen after editing or creating other notes on this? or another device? Do you use the full-size notes manager and leave that open in the background? or just the side panel notes? and is it open all the time?
-
- I use the Notes Panel, which is floating. The Toolbar is enabled on my Landscape secondary monitor, but hidden on my Portrait primary monitor. I will most often use the landscape window for editing notes, but that makes no difference.
- Sync is enabled
- I only have one instance of Vivaldi Snapshot open, with two windows on two monitors
- It does happen with other notes. Several of them now have a blank URL that goes to a blank tab when the icon is clicked. For example, I had a note for Vivaldi's Business Model.
-
@daniel the one thing hard to externalize would be the inverted panel/tab hierarchy:
- full height (static or floating) sidebar
- tab-bar/address-bar/site-content vertically aligned
The
Vivaldi
mail panel already has one aspect of that; aligning (some) control(?) bar UI elements with sidebar end.Maybe the rest is already achievable with UI-mods, but I have not found any attempts on this yet.
-
In the last few snapshots I have had problems with my tiled tabs layout after restarting Vivaldi.
My layout is like this:
When I restart Vivaldi it looks like this:
If I try to adjust the layout from the Page Tiling menu it ends up like this:
(5 and 6 are tiles from a completely different tab!)Win10x64

@Pesala Can confirm this. I rarely use links on notes so I didn't notice this but most likely have a few links missing already...
-
I am still seeing white context menus with the Dark color scheme on Linux Mint. I don't know if the blog post means this is a known issue, or not. The way I read it, it appears that it was fixed?

@sim0n: Thanks for looking into it. The error message reads:
Error: Minified React error #185; visit https://reactjs.org/docs/error-decoder.html?invariant=185 for the full message or use the non-minified dev environment for full errors and additional helpful warnings.

@Sim0n Masterbug is VB-93276 "Error message after upgrade when typing in the address box" with duplicates.
-
@sim0n: Seems to be an issue with my profile. A clean profile resolves it. Nevertheless, it started after installation of the 2867.19 snapshot.
-
VB-93256 seems not solved

@ilprof Confirmed.
-
@doctorg: This depends on your distro and setup. You will see exactly the same result in Chromium 108. The change was made by upstream. The fix here is to fix in the situations where upstream have fixed it. In Ubuntu 20.04LTS it will work.
We will not be doing a further Vivaldi specific fix for 5.6 so track the upstream Chromium bug for now. If they fix it we will inherit it.
-
@Ruarí Ah, ok. Thanks for precise information.
-
@JimTDI
Same Problem here. But I don't know if it is just a fix for Ubuntu with Gnome - Ubuntu at least is explicitly named. I'm running KDE Neon and Manjaro. Both with Plasma as Desktop. On both, I unfortunately still have the white context menu. -
@JimTDI They list the bug, that means it's fixed. But as Rouri mentions below, this bug is inherited from Chromium and the fix works only on certain distros. I'm on MX Linux 21 (Debian Bullseye) with the kde 5.20 desktop environment.
-
@Popanz Fixed on Ubuntus with GNOME but not on Debian KDE.
Looks like some strange Chromium-to-gtk interaction on different Linux Desktops.
