Linux Mint 20.3 - cannot change search engine..

Regardless of how many times in the settings we select "DuckDuckGo" as the search engine.. "Bing" always takes over. The search box Pull-Down arrow is inoperative. I think "Bing" is running the show..

Please open Vivaldi Settings → Search
Clicked on desired engine and click checkboxes for Default search and Use in Private Window
Drag the desired search engine to top in list of searches
Close settings
In Search field (near address field) and in Speed Dial (if enabled) click on magnifier icon and select desired engine

@DoctorG - Thanks for the suggestion! It will use DDG only in a private Window. On the left side in the attacted screenshot.. we see "Bing" still being defiantly displayed - even whilst DDG has clearly been selected.. Recently switched back to Vivaldi browser which I find better behaved (and much faster) in Mint MATE than Mint's supplied "Firefox" - WillNotChgSrch.png

Hi, did you set DDG as default search engine?

@mib2berlin Thanks for the input. Did you see the screenshot png? If you look to the left, you will see that "Bing remains" no matter what we select in settings. On the other hand, if we uncheck "show icon".. Bing will instantly "go away" in real time and come back in response to the checkbox! As I see it the icon would logically be changing to DDG or whatever we select as the default - but it does not. As mentioned, it DOES indeed change to DDG.. but ONLY if switching to private window mode. I have so far found NO other problems in Vivaldi using Mint 20.3!

@DoctorG OM-Gosh! It is a NO-Brainer! Purely by "clicking around".. I discovered that while the tiny "pull-down" arrow is inoperative.. CLICKING THE Bing ICON itself.. - instantly displays the LIST of available Search Engines! Pick the one you want like a "delicious grape off the vine"! There is NO need to goto "settings" at all.. Why do we make things so simple "complicated"?
