Vivaldi OS based on chromium OS.

I have used Chromebook for several years in school. I will admit that they are very convenient, they synchronize everything, are easy to update, and are focused on the web. They also have a Linux container called crostini for anything missing from the web browser. My main gripe is that in order to fully use a Chromebook, you need a google account. There is no way to have a persistent offline account, welcome to the feudal computer. On my windows machine, (I am looking at MX Linux, but am unsure how to get some apps I need running.) I use Vivaldi because it is the most feature rich browser available. I could do perfectly fine with an OS that combines Vivaldi and Chrome OS that allows for persistent offline accounts, but no such option is available. SAD!

That's not my experience, I'm using a local account and it works fine. But two caveats:
#1: I'm using the FydeOS distribution of Chromium OS. Perhaps a local account wouldn't work so well on Chrome OS proper.
#2: I still need a Google account to sign into the Google Play Store, even on a local Chromium OS account.
