Solved Follow-up flags in Outlook not synching back to Vivaldi Mail
-
The treatment of flags in Vivaldi mail seems to be inconsistent.
Red flags in Vivaldi get synched to Outlook - but not vice versa. -
This is Microsoft's Exchange protocol not playing nice with other IMAP clients and not following the standard of sending the default \Flagged
This is any issue for any IMAP Client (since Microsoft doesn't send the info)
See for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/exchangeserver/comments/n4l42t/imap_and_exchange_flagging_only_works_one/Ran into this the other day when @SteveKong pointed this out (and I was confused too)
Vivaldi -> Outlook fine with flag
Outlook -> Vivaldi (and other IMAP clients like Thunderbird) doesn't workSo basically the issue is on Outlook's side (as they're not sending the information)
-
apparently there are not too many people around who use outlook to confirm this issue. I only have the free "outlook" version that comes with Win11 where I can't set flags.
Flags and labels are not very standardized. Vivaldi Flags are compatible to Apple mail, Labels are compatible to Thunderbird, Evolution and Opera M2.

@WildEnte said in Follow-up flags in Outlook not synching back to Vivaldi Mail:
not too many people around who use outlook
... that also use Vivaldi

@Shoham I think it's a given that the regulars on the Vivaldi forum are Vivaldi users, otherwise that would be a very strange hobby
