Solved Cursor not in address bar when new tab opened.
-
Can we have the old behaviour (i.e. prior to version 5.4.2753.37) whereby when a new tab is opened, the cursor is present in the address bar so I can just start typing a search term or URL< rather than having to click in it?
This is learned behaviour which is very hard to undo, and results in a new tab at some point opening a specific page which is triggered by a certain letter I type, and not the page I thought I was trying to type in.
Thanks!

Check that Settings > Tabs > Focus Page Content on New Tab (located under Tab Handling) is not selected.

@jhdore Happens for me if "New Tab" was used from pinned icon context menu.
Or how do you create a new tab?I know that could happen if you have a tab or Startpage/Speed Dial created by a extension.

@yojimbo274064400 Aha, that fixed it, thanks! Don't remember enabling that option, but there are a load of them in the Tabs page now
Cheers,
