It seems that we are all fighting a losing battle with tech companies grabbing our data.
I'm more optimistic. Russia should switch over to Linux soon enough, with Microsoft boycotting the country. I expect many other countries to follow Russia's lead. In other words: Linux will explode in popularity, and likely displace Windows as the dominant desktop operating system.

@Eggcorn , very possible, at least here there are more and more stores that sell computers without OS or only with FreeDOS, the user can ask to install, with the corresponding fee, the OS he wants, either Windows for about €120 or Linux for the cost of the CD or the service (~20€), if he don't want to do it himself.
I think that sooner or later it will be the norm, if MS continues with its policy. -

older PC which are using W11without problems, because it's chipset is in the MS list, but mine isn't, despite fully meeting all other requirements

@greybeard , maybe it has something to do with the spy soft of W11, which don't work with some chipset

Well I do have a cam in my laptop... it has a wee bandage over it. Must've gotten hurt at some time
