Invalid icons and reverting overlay – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2751.3
-
Todays snapshot brings a fix for the Vivaldi shortcuts ending up with invalid locations, as well as a revert to the Native window buttons overlay so that we can keep working on it for a future release down the road.

What, no fix for
<insert pet bug here>

Error on Update dialog:
Changelog since version 2751.3

Is the issue with crashing when using "go to previous page" via the back button or keyboard shortcut an issue with Vivaldi or Chromium?
One of the mods(?) here mentioned it was a Chromium issue and was supposed to be fixed with an incoming Chromium update several snapshots ago - but I and a few others (that Ive seen) continue to have the same issue since that particular update and several more since then.
Thanks in advance!

[Revert] All Native window buttons overlay changes (VB-82583)
I had lost the ability to resize the window on the buttons corner so i appreciate this change.
Can someone confirm that I you use the middle mouse button (scrollwheel) to open the previous page as a new tab vivaldi crashes?Wait, is more weird than that, it just crashes only under certain circumstances.Steps to reproduce open a new tab and paste this url:
https://vivaldi.com/blog/invalid-icons-and-reverting-overlay-vivaldi-browser-snapshot-2751-3/Scroll down to click on "View original thread" once on the forum just use the middle mouse button (scrollwheel) on the previous page button to open it as a tab.Using a new tab makes it fail more reliably, yet is not easy to reproduce :SEdit: I saw it was already explained by @theorist

@pesala: Ah, will fix that, thanks! Edit: should be fixed now
-
@Pathduck Our pets (cats) have no bugs and fleas.
-
@theorist: Hey, we still believe it to be a chromium issue, it was me who mentioned it was a chromium issue btw
We still haven't got the update that should contain the fix afaik so will just have to wait for 5.5, and hopefully we can backport the fix to 5.4, if its not fixed by the chromium update we will have to fix it, but we don't have the resources to do that atm anyway with everyone away on vacation

Me happy is!

@Gif2D I guess your Vivaldi update on Windows 7 did not fail anymore?
-
@DoctorG Naaaaaaaahhhhh, they converted to...
-
@guigirl: i think i don't get the joke here, can you explain?
-
@jacekn I'm playing along with one of our "acquired" forum memes, that if it's Friday then there must be a new Snappie, & if there's a new Snappie then ipso facto it must be Friday.

Yeah, the circumstances in which the crash takes place is all over the place. I've talked about it in a little more detail in past snapshot threads, but basically everything that I thought triggered it (too many tabs open, vivaldi being open for too long, etc) have turned out to wrong afaik. It just seems to happen whenever it feels like it when going to a previous page.
