@mossman Afaik, i've never had that problem.
Is it theme-related?
Looks like we're both using dark themes so I would guess not. I'm seeing it on Windows which may be something since you're on Linux...
-
@Moooooo said in Fixes for recent Windows issues – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2741.3:
is that using the snapshot?
Yes, naturally.
@Moooooo said in Fixes for recent Windows issues – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2741.3:
Do you have "Use Native Window" enabled in the settings?
No.
@Moooooo said in Fixes for recent Windows issues – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2741.3:
Which OS?
ArchLinux KDE, currently running V Snappie as a full-wayland app in a Plasma Wayland session.
@Moooooo said in Fixes for recent Windows issues – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2741.3:
on Windows now has the wide buttons
So, is this possibly yet another instance of windoze failing where penguins prevail?

PS: Fwiw: Here's what it looks like with Native Window [temporarily] enabled:
IMO that's quite irrelevant to this discussion, coz by definition with NW, it is now my Plasma theme not Vivaldi itself that controls the look including the control widgets. However, since you asked, i'm providing it simply for completeness.

edit out blinking
Yes, i saw it, now my Andromeda Strain epilepsy has triggered.

@guigirl this windows buttons thing makes no sense imo they have managed to screw up the buttons and add rounded corners on windows 10 - interested to know if you see that on linux - windows 11 now has native rounded corners as did earlier microsoft OS's but why should it be standard on a broser that works across all OS's - no other program that i know of has added that on windows 10
if this is intentional by vivaldi then they have come up with some strange logic - its nothing to do with the windows code - how can it be go back 2 snappies and it works perfectly - it has to be a bug - if not someone needs telling to sort the code out
-
Is copy/paste working in this release? Having problems on facebook.

and add rounded corners
interested to know if you see that on linuxAs a general statement, when i read peeps mention esoteric UI aesthetics like shadows, rounded corners, left-handed polkadots et al, i usually struggle to understand what UI element specifically they mean ... i'm not very perceptive. So, pls would you include a pic/s of what troubles you, then i can respond with a pic from my system that might help you?
-
-
@adacom Oh, that. Tis funny, but microshyte like that is utterly unimportant to me. I couldn't give a fig about it. I care vastly more about important basic functionality for which Snappies continue to disappoint me, like POST-searches, session-management, tabs-management etc.
There's clearly no need for me to post more pics, given that what i have here, you can already see, in those two earlier posts of mine above.
-
@guigirl its unimportant to me too apart from the fact its showing on windows 10 which it should not be - its now native to windows 11 so coming back to my point how is it showing on windows 10
no other program other than vivaldi shows the windows buttons like that and no other installed program shows the rounded corners on the window so vivaldi code is creating it
so the next question is WHY? - back to my point - is it a bug or new code - if new code going round the circle again - WHY?
-

I can't tell if you're actually asking me, or merely expostulating rhetorically. I presume the latter, but in case it's the former, then i certainly can't help. Apart from not understanding nor caring about such minutiae, i use Linux not godawful windoze.
Presumably someone else will reply usefully for you.

Still having new windows spawned from a maximised window take up the whole screen, but be in fact non-maximised. What's more confusing now is that the maximise/restore icon acts as if the window is maximised.
-
@guigirl no it was a question to the board not direct but your input would be interesting - are the corners rounded in linux
-
@adacom said in Fixes for recent Windows issues – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2741.3:
are the corners rounded in linux
In UI? Yes.

interesting then its been done by Vivaldi - so i come back to my original or earlier question - WHY? a bug or deliberate - either way its killing any css mods to the windows buttons - dont know if its also doing the same on linux
-
I'm guessing the new big buttons are "Windows 11 style", and someone/something is assuming everyone uses that now. The older buttons were "Windows 10 style", which may not suit everyone, but at least could be customized.

thats how i read it - that someone/something needs to rethink imo - if users want windows 11 style then fine - create it with a css mod or allow mods to the new style

WHY?
This question i am not able to answer, lack of information.

@fahrenheit451: I just downloaded the snapshot and the copy/paste in the debugging tools are fixed. If this is what you were referring to.
