Overheating Issue in Vivaldi
-
I have tried different chromium browsers but only when I use Vivaldi i face the overheating & fans make louder noise on my laptop. Previously I have used Vivaldi on windows & there was no such issue on windows. Tried a different distro, DE & right now using a simple Window Manager.
-
For me overheating was reduced with 22.04 Ubuntu, so maybe try something else.
-
@deepanshu188 Actual details would kinda sorta help here...
-
@iPristy I'm using the latest arch based endeavoros
-
@guigirl Yeah, i'm using latest vivaldi-stable on endeavouros
-
@deepanshu188 I presume that before posting you've tried all these?

- Tested in a clean test profile via
vivaldi-stable --profile-directory="NewTestProfile"
- Experimented with the
chrome://flags/#ignore-gpu-blocklist
toggle. - Experimented with the commandline switches
--disable-gpu-rasterization
,--disable-gpu-compositing
,--disable-gpu
-
@guigirl I have tried clearing the profile but not the other two. let me see if it works.
-
@deepanshu188
Hi, start with--disable-gpu
first, it disabled the hardware acceleration completely.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin Ok

@guigirl Didn't work
-
Are you using a desktop compositor.?.If so please disable and try again.

-
@Priest72 Thanks, it worked!
