Solved Search engines icons not displayed
-
I'm on Vivaldi Snapshot 5.3.2679.3 (Build oficial) (arm64) and search engines aren't displayed with their icons. This is something that doesn't happen in stable release.

I managed to fix this by doing searchs with each search engine. Obviously, the search engine should use the same url that you have configured to come back with the results. And there, Vivaldi will use the favicon to show it as search engine icon.
In the case of StartPage, I updated the URL (https://www.startpage.com/sp/search?query=%s).

@sedrossetti I have had this issue for some time with the icons not displaying in the text selection context menu.
After removing and adding back the Search Engines, the icons reappeared.

I still cannot get them to stick, and deleting Bing image search is impossible. I cannot recover the icons for the Ecosia default search.
The YouTube search disappeared again already.

Some of my custom search engine icons are missing as well, along with Amazon. (Which I think is a default search engine)
Deleting and re-creating them did not work.
I'm tempted to see if editing a JSON file will help but I need to find where that is stored on macOS.
The sites I tested deleting/re-creating with today have their favicons stored in the most common location: [domain/favicon.ico]. So it's not because they are using some weird resource to load those icons.

I have the same problem in the latest snapshot and stable in Linux, so not only in Mac OS, some icons are not displayed.
