BONUS SOLUTION:
https://codepen.io/Sdar/pen/mdXgyze
Css selector for separators placed immediately after another one. (click the buttons to remove them the separators adjacent separators shouldn't be displayed anymore)
For vivaldi should be something like:.toolbar-divider + .toolbar-divider { display: none; }
If for some reason vivaldi uses adjacent dividers somewhere this will visually break that, to fix it just be more specific with the selector so it only targets the mail bar.
Thank you! This worked very well for a css workaround! I'm restricting it to the mail toolbar for now in case it breaks anything else.
I also used that same selector to get rid of duplicate spaces caused by hidden buttons and separators that immediately followed a space.
div#browser:not(.toolbar-edit-mode) .toolbar-mailbar .toolbar-divider + .toolbar-divider { display: none; } div#browser:not(.toolbar-edit-mode) .toolbar-mailbar .toolbar-spacer + .toolbar-spacer { display: none; } div#browser:not(.toolbar-edit-mode) .toolbar-mailbar .toolbar-spacer + .toolbar-divider { display: none; }
Though to hide separators that come immediately precede a space, I had to use the
has()
selector you mentioned, meaning I had to enablechrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features
- so far performance seems unaffected.div#browser:not(.toolbar-edit-mode) .toolbar-mailbar .toolbar-divider:has(+ .toolbar-spacer) { display: none; }
-
address bar should be seperate for mail toolbar
I don't want to use address bar, command palette is enough for me, but I close address bar, mail search box gone, seperate bar for mail and browser

no crash looking good

My guess it's WebView particles causing problems again... or maybe Bogons...

I'm sure the answer will cause me to do a face-palm, but where are the new panel zoom controls?
-
-
@guigirl Oh, I see. You have to right-click on the icon for the pane. I had been right-clicking in the panel itself. Thanks!

On MacOS Bookmark Page Icon, when Addressbar is in the Statusbar, pops up like this:
Not floating upwards, but downwards, with the background color of my Speeddial and tiling the browser window in two parts, like in window tiling in Vivaldi. -
Still having issues with history showing up in Quick Commands. For the past few snapshots (or maybe even back in 5.3) I've had to change Search Types and Priority for history to kick in and show up.

[REGRESSION ?] E-mail filters seem "dead" and "freezed", after 2707.2 update
try this:
- create some e-mail filters on the "all messages" view (that is, click on a sender, to filter All Messages by that particular sender and then click on "Save", to save the search as a permanent All Messages filter, in the "Filters" view): right click and save, right click and save, ...
- update to 2707.2
- wait for the sender to send you some new e-mail
you'll see that the new e-mails from those particular senders you clicked and saved, will not appear into the "Filters" you created: the filter view will be "freezed" at the last pre 2707.2 update.
Try to rerun the filters in the mail, as a workaround: you'll see that the filters will not show the new e-mails that those particular senders, have sent you.
Filters are "dead" (they don't show new messages) and are "freezed" (a rerun doesn't change anything)
Anyone confirms?

Labeling in mail is absolutely unreliable. And the craziest thing is that I don't find any reason for this behavior. Tell me where I'm wrong: I create a new filter named "social" and use from/includes the words "twitter" OR "facebook" to start a search and put those mails under a label with the same name (social). The result: some mails go under the label and some not, so I have to label them individually. I have created a similar filter and a corresponding label with the names "crafts" and use the rules "from/includes" (with OR) with some mail headers to start a search. Nothing happens! No mail goes under that label. I have used the exact same rules & labels to set the venerable (and now unsupported by Google) Opera mail, and everything works fine. Most important is, as I mentioned, that I find absolutely nothing to pin down the problem.
-
@nutcracker: filters are Vivaldi searches that you saved (so that they are automatically updated by Vivaldi), while a label is something you manually stick to a certain e-mail message.
-
@newscpq: That's what I mean: I set a filter for search and automatically place the search results under a label which I create. It's not happening! I was using - almost - the same method in Opera mail and it always worked. What's simplest than that: I search the "from" header and if the word "facebook" is included I place the mail under the label "social". Unfortunately that does not happen every time. There are mails with the word "facebook" included in the header with no label at all although I've set and save the rule. And then, there are some other strange things. When I delete a mail two things may happen: 1. the deleted mail goes to trash and disappears or 2. it is marked deleted and I can still see it until the trash in cleaned. This is not a big deal since the mail is actually deleted but there is the question why it's happening. And then there are other peculiarities, for example the virtual (my own description) label "+1" in the received list which actually is revealed as a real label when I choose the actual message.
-
@nutcracker: these are the "strange behaviours" I described in two different bug submissions...
- VB-90173: E-mail filters seem "dead" and "freezed", after 2707.2 update
- VB-89669: Can't delete sent messages, when view into the "All Messages" e-mail filter
Anyway, I think the second "bug" depends, on how the e-mail service provider names the IMAP trash folder and where it stores it, in the IMAP folder hierarchy, compared to where the INBOX is placed (that is, if the trash folder is a subfolder of the INBOX).
I noticed that GMAIL places the TRASH folder in a place where a traditional e-mail client looks for e-mails in the inbox, so Vivaldi still shows them in the Views like "Inbox", or "All messages", even if you unset the button to view the the trashed items... -
