@guigirl next week I suppose. But I'm not sure they will get those monstrocities fixed by then.

Previous behavior where dragging windows shifted them between desktops was fine and dragging on the desktop area shifted the position was great. This is a highly irritating change. But glad it's listed as fixed
Nobody decided that. As the blog post said, it's a bug that's already been fixed, with the fix released in Plasma 5.25.1.

fixes queued up for Plasma 5.25.1 next month
Oh dear! Given today's only 19/6, that infers not just one week as i'd hoped, but several weeks. I doubt very much i'm going to be able to hold my Arch back that long without upgrading, yet to do the upgrade before 5.25.1 equates to having to endure the crappy broken new PW/DG/O shyte.
Oh well, looks like i'll do this rotten update today, make a superficial effort to tolerate the broken function, then boot into & live in Sparky for the next few weeks. Ergo, tis time again to copy across my Snappie configs to my dual-boot shared partition, so i can keep using Snappie in Sparky replete with my yummy recent enhancements of dark-mode, autohide-bookmarkbar, quasi-TotalCookieProtection, yada yada.

huh?
where's the source to that, because they have never missed a planned date, which for 5.25.1 is 21/6.
?

you can, what's the worst thing that could happen, if you let it more than 1-2 months, that you'd need to re-populate some expired keys, no big deal
(OK, there's more to do if a pacman update is also involved but this is very very rare
)

I quoted it above, with link [always examine the dots].

Yeah, fair cop gov... yet my linked quote also exists.

FOMO !!!!!!!!!
Contrary to my earlier post, here i am now, still in Arch not Sparky, & in 5.25.0 Wayland. Moral of the story is: never take my word for anything; i'm apparently a pathological liar [or am i? muhahahahaha
].

Yeah, fair cop gov... yet my linked quote also exists.I've read it all, your quote was a snip from his article, so I didn't mean your source, but HIS!
Some people... geez... they drink too much coffee throughout the day!

Hey @npro - is your 5.25.0 Application Launcher resizable?
It stubbornly remains fixed-size, non-resizeable, undraggable, in my real Arch KDE [both X11 & Wayland], in one of my Arch VMs, & in one of my Archie VMs. Despite this, as i showed days/weeks ago earlier in this thread, it is resizable in my KDE Neon Unstable VM.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is another major Plasma update which won't work properly for me unless/until i reset all my Plasma configs. OMZ i really hope not, coz it's such a PITA thereafter having to tediously remember all my customisations, & apply them again one by one.
-
@guigirl That was the first thing I tried because you had mentioned it, and it didn't work here as well. But because I don't use that -I use the Application Menu -, it didn't annoy me more than 2 seconds so I thought in that exact timeframe that either your info was maybe not accurate enough
, or that it was my DE's fault, so I ditched the effort and forgot about that, as it wouldn't make any difference to me anyway
. But I hope you don't have to do a reset and that it is another bug to be squashed in some 5.25.x bugfix version...

@npro Ta heaps for checking, i really appreciate that sanity check for me. I used the AM for years, & still do like it. I resisted the newfangled AL for several months after it first came, as i thought it sucked. For reasons still not entirely clear to me [but probably simple insanity], some time back i changed to the AL.
You know the worst aspect of this [apparent] additional bug? It manifests on Arches & Archies, but not Neon Unstable. How unfair is that, ffs!!?

I am always shocked by reality, each time i am reminded that we're not just having private quiet little chats here amongst ourselves alone...
