How to change Addressbook name?
-
Hello Vivaldi Community. This is my first time posting here, so be gentle!
I want to change the name of my default Vivaldi addressbook. Right now, it has my deadname in it and I hate that I have to keep looking at it. Currently it reads
"Vivaldi.net (XXXX's Addressbook)" It doesn't really say "XXXX", I censored it for privacy reasons. If you have one, it's located in Contacts > Groups. I looked through all of the settings and couldn't find a way to change it. Please help! -

@nyount
It looks like the CardDAV plugin we use, unfortunately, does not include the option to rename addressbooks. -

@jane-n Thanks for the reply Jane. Is there any way that this addressbook can be deleted/disabled?

Actually, before you try disabling/deleting the address book, you could try renaming it by setting your account up in another CardDAV client.
Instructions for adding your account to a client can be found here: https://help.vivaldi.com/services/webmail/web-contacts/#Sync_contacts. -
Sorry to dig up this topic, but I wanted to know if there would ever be an update for these plugins. I must admit that I'd like to switch all my contacts to your WebDAV services, but this impossibility of modifying them bothers me a little.

The web interface and plugins for Vivaldi Webmail are by a third-party, Roundcube. If there's an update for a plugin, we'll update ours as well, but we have no control over the things Roundcube will work on.

@jane-n Thanks for your answer. Hoping you'll have more control with time.
