updated had not noticed the issue fixed -
@chas4: Did you have broken default search previously?
-
@Ruarí Nope did not see it on Windows 11 or macOS
-
@Chas4 Then the fix is not relevant to you and you should not expect anything from this update.
-
Thank you, I can confirm this fixes the "being unable to change search engine" issue I mentioned in https://forum.vivaldi.net/post/586217.

I added the following message above,
Autoupdate is temporarily disabled (also for those users still running Vivaldi 5.2). This is to assess feedback from the users who have upgraded thus far. Once autoupdate is re-enabled, this message will be removed. If you do not wish to wait, please download and update manually in the interim.
Just to expand somewhat, this is not because we see any problems thus far. On the contrary we have had some encouraging comments (see the one from @pedroc in this thread). The reason for freezing the update is that with the issues we have had with the initial update and fixes, we are just being extra cautious.
Thus we wanted to update just a subselection of users to Minor update three and then give them chance to log any bugs they encounter. We will assess any bugs that came in tomorrow morning (Norwegian time). If nothing serious presents itself, we will enable autoupdates again.
In summary, this temporary disable of updates is about us avoiding inconveniencing too many people with a potentially problematic update.
P.S. Enjoy your evening. I shall now go and have a beer
… alcohol free

to Minor update three
I have asked this before, and I ask again, please, always post the full version number in these blog posts. It would make things easier. Thank you.

I saw that you pulled back ubuntu deb repo updates earlier but now they are back. So this temp disable does not affect linux deb repo anymore?

It does. The latest build in the repo is 5.2.2623.48
$ curl -s https://repo.vivaldi.com/archive/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages.gz | zgrep -A6 'Package: vivaldi-stable' | grep Version Version: 5.2.2623.48-1

I had 5.3.2679.38 available in the linux mint "update manager", didn't update it, tried to refresh the list and it went away. So it was available for some time, otherwise it wouldn't have been in the list. I have 4 hours as the automatic refresh of the list. For these past days there have been some new versions available for a brief time and then they have vanished. No problem though. I bet you have had a hectic few days there in the "fjordland".

@Pesala Thank you - think I will just wait until the installer is enabled.

@bswn It would have been better to reply to your original topic about the Back History.
