Extensions for Vivaldi

Vivaldi can naturally use extensions from the Chrome Store, but this has the drawback that some extensions for Chrom (ium) do not work in Vivaldi as expected or / conflict with it's own functions. Vivaldi is Chromium based, but it's not Chrome.

The alternative is to download the extensions of its corresponding official pages, GitHub, SourceForge, etc., although with the same compatibility problem that in Vivaldi is not 100% with Chrome, apart from the manual installation it also requires a manual update.

I know (at least for the moment) it is almost impossible for a Vivaldi Store, for various reasons (this is why I have not put this in Feature Request), but if it would be helpful to have a list with Proven and Safe Extensions for Vivaldi, this would avoid this huge number of posts due to problems. an extension

I therefore invite users to post in this thread the extensions they use, that were shown to be valid and their corresponding link and function.

@mib2berlin , yes, but it's better to name the extension and link direct to the store/page to obtain it.
Also easy to do, right click in the extensions icon and clicking in it's name in the context menu, open the page in the webstore/official page.

nevertheless, I don't think, that we need a list of working extensions, because most of them work with vivaldi, so a (short) blacklist is better than a (huge) whitelist

@derDay , yes but somewhat outdated from 2016- because of this i've planned to use this thread to elaborate a page with this extensions, better than have to search in old threads.
Mostly because of multiple issues reported in the forum a cause of an incompatible extension. (First troubleshooting step> try in a guest profile, something repeated ad infinitum because of this. Vivaldi isn't full compatible with a lot of Chrome extensions, that is a fact)

@Catweazle True, but using a "recommended extension" does NOT mean it can't cause problems.

E.g. I have seen a lot of problems reported which were related to "ad blockers" and "privacy" - even "DDG privacy" which I see you have in your list!

So removing extensions (or testing with a Guest Profile) will always be an important trouble shooting step.

@TbGbe ,agree, even good extensions can enter in conflict with other good extensions, f.Exmpl the Forum mod and the Dark Reader extensions are advisables and secure, but they are not compatible, because of this, if you use the Forum mod and the Dark Reader, you must whitelist the Forum in the Dark Reader, otherwise you cause strange issues in the Forum UI.
Any extension can cause problems in some pages and depending which pages you need to use normally, you can have problems or not, because of this is valid the first troubelshooting step, but if you see the reports of issues related to extensions, you will see that nearly all of these are related to extensionswhich enter in conflict with Vivaldis own features, most of the extensions in the store related to the Vivaldi UI, tab management and some own functions are working bad, don't work properly, don't work or even can cause crashes.

I would mention what @luetage told me once:
many users who follow those threads will miss out what is mentioned here.
so, this new thread won't be that beneficial to community as older more followed ones.
Later edit: Now I come to think of it, @luetage 's point does not apply that well as above threads not that active and also most probably users too.

I'd say the posts be moved.
Old thread you say, they can be added to welcome post.
That outdated point would be quite obvious to users, no need for a new thread just for that.

@juanvase , agree, it maybe a solution. The old thread naturaly has more subscritors than this new one, but as said , its somewhat outdated and some extensions mencioned are too or discontinued (uMatrix) or ones which are not longer work with Vivaldi
To make a list of this type also need a maintance, not given in an old thread even adding current extensions.
Becaise of this I made this thread, which can be temporary to use it as a base of a pure list arranged in sections for privacy, security, tools, etc., which can be added to the list of Vivaldi links, like the one of the search engines by @stardepp This is the idea behind the thread.

extensions specifically for Vivaldi and this forum in the Chrome Store among others, made by @luetage.

@mib2berlin I have used "Express VPN" and I question the use of this product, b/c if you ever decide that you want to try something else, you have to request to be removed which can take a day to do so, you cannot remove yourself on your own, why I don't know.
