@fish1
Hi, if you meant the user account you can get in contact with the Vivaldi staff.
If you lost/forgot your sync encryption password and wiped Vivaldi from your system all is lost.
Please explain a bit more what happen.Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin I'm not sure what it's called but i know i had 4 seperate tabs which open to reveal a list of many tabs. I don't know what happened. I clicked on something and all my tabs disappeared and i can't remember my username and password.

@fish1
Hm, user account and tabs are not related, check the trash can right top of Vivaldi. It show the last 100 closed tabs.
Do you meant 4 Vivaldi windows?Cheers, mib
-
There's no trash can at the top right of vivaldi. I had a long list of tabs in each of the 4 vivaldi windows.
-
-
@mib2berlin It doesn't show the bin icon.
-
@fish1
Maybe it is disabled, check in the tab settings. -
I can't find it. There is a bin icon in the bottom left corner and it's empty.
-
@fish1
It is in settings > tabs > tab display:You can also check the windows panel, there is a closed tab trash can.
-
I can see the same as the screenshot.
-
I still don't have a answer to my question on how to recover my tabs if possible. I will continue this conversation on another day.
-
@fish1 please try window panel , you'll see closed tabs
-
There's what i believe might be called a window panel but it doesn't have exactly the same words and numbers in it as your screenshot shows. It doesn't have any words and numbers in it. I don't have time to continue this conversation. I will continue it at another time.

Does anyone want to help me with my question-i lost my account and all my tabs. are there simple ways to recover everything

@fish1 I do not understand how your account has anything to do with your tabs. What/which account? Local account in the browser? Sync account? Community account? There is no data storage connected to "account" that one can lose, as far as I know, other than sync. Even so, if you "lose" your sync account somehow, all history, tabs, notes, etc. should be stored locally. I literally cannot make sense of your claim.
-
It's a browser
-
@fish1 It's a browser.
All of its data it stored locally. It does not HAVE accounts by virtue of being a browser, and is not connected to the company or servers that it came from. It's not like Chrome or Firefox or Edge where opening or signing in to an account captures your personal data. Vivaldi is not like that. It's a Browser.
NOW, if you have multiple devices and wish to sync data like bookmarks and passwords and some of your settings, you can set up a sync account and do that. It will even record open tabs on your various instances which you CAN open on other instances, but are not automatically transferred there. If you do this, you cannot "lose" your account unless you forget your password or manage to get your Vivaldi account (which is the identifier for your sync account) banned. Then, I suppose (it has never happened to me) you could no longer be able to sign in to sync. But you would still have all of your data locally. If you then set up a new sync account you would once again be able to sync.
SO - was it your impression that setting up a Vivaldi community account meant that Vivaldi would capture and store your data?

@fish1
Hi, may be there is a language barrier, try to ask in the local forum:https://forum.vivaldi.net/category/38/local-forum
Cheers, mib

You said it's a browser. that's what i said. all my tabs were stored there for a long time and now they disappeared. i'm searching for the best alternative browser to replace firefox. There's no language barrier. i asked a simple question which requires a simple answer
