Go back without refreshing the page
-
I would like to request the possibility of being able to deactivate the refresh of the pages when going back
-
@sergiovicol so from what i know there are two types of pages one being static other one being dynamic. The difference between the two is that in static the contents of webpage remains same while in case if dynamic it's contents change over time. And guess what most of the webpages nowadays belong to the latter category. So what you might be asking is to save an offline copy of each page you visited before. Doesn't seem much of a practical function to me

@KumarArnim1 Personally I would not need what the OP wants and I see the problem for the browser in case also repeatetly back pages should be stored.
But I just want to state again that I'm missing a related "feature" of the old Opera.
Opera kept (mostly) the page content (no refresh) when changing tabs. Even closing and opening Opera again I could switch to a tab and it was presented exactly as it was when I last looked at it. Only a manual "Reload" would update the content.
At least for webpages not using fancy dynamic elements I really would like Vivaldi could bring back this behaviour.I'm accually still using an Opera 12 instance for a certain set of webpages to monitor changes in the content of that webpages.

@goedl
Hi, is lazy loading enabled in vivaldi://settings/general/ ?
If disabled I can switch tabs without loading again, it does not work for restart but help a bit.Cheers, mib

@goedl tbh bro I have never been a Opera user. Didn't like it much from the very beginning. Well i mean no offense, it just didn't suit my taste as such. But since you quoted you have been using it to monitor changes in the webpages i sincerely apologize for jumping to conclusions of the feature being impractical. I can now see some people might want to save a offline type copies for future references

Are you sure?
Mouse over the setting reads "Wait to load restored session content until tab is activated"
And that's exactly what happens for me: When the tab is not active it will not reload in the background but when activating the tab it is immediately loaded and overwritten. No way to see the content as it was just before activating the tab. -
@KumarArnim1 No need to apology.
Apparently I'm in a small minority who would benefit from such improved caching of web content. Unfortunately.....
