How to open PDF in external viewer - when opening in "Downloads"
-
The internal PDF viewer is ok for some purposes.
Sometimes it's not good/fast enough, missing nice features.
So I download the PDF.
Now ... I want to open the downloaded PDF outside Vivaldi...How can I still let Vivaldi handle PDF's in webpages - but make it open in the external viewer app when PDF is clicked from the Download list?

@ankep Select a program as standard app in your OS and set to open PDFs.
In Vivaldi open Settings → Webpages → Plugins → Disable "Internal PDF Viewer" , close settings and restart. Now, using "Open" in "Save as" download popup should open the external PDF app. And same with Vivaldi Downlaod Panel and using context menu → Open or double-click on file in list will open it in external PDF app.
And, no, you can only view with Vivaldi's internal PDF viewer or open in external app, not both.

That I knew, but sometimes one wants the internal viewer. (but never when opening from Downloads)
How can I add a feature request to have a separate setting for PFD's in the "download" tab?

You can not, as it is not implemented, and i do not know if such will ever be added.

I would do something like this:
https://ttm.sh/bcp.mp4Not ideal, but allows opening in external viewer while still keeping the internal active.
