IMAP - Maximum number of connections from user+IP exceeded through
-
Hello all!
I use the Mozilla Thunderbird and have since about 1 month the problem that I can not retrieve my inbox (imap.vialdi.net) at first go, because my client was probably blocked on the server side (see attachment).
In Thunderbird I have already set the max. open connections to "1". This did not solve the problem either. Strangely, the retrieval on the smartphone (also via IMAP) works without problems - but there I also have a different IP address.
According to research, it is probably due to the server settings:
I therefore ask the Vivaldi team to increase the max. connections per client on the mail server.

Thunderbird has been working fine for days now.
Has the Vivaldi team implemented my suggestion?

OK, the issue is back again.
Can anybody please inform the Vivaldi Team? -
@doelli
Hi, I can reach vivaldi.net IMAP server with the Vivaldi mail client and KMail, no errors.
At https://vivaldistatus.com all is OK, too.
You can report it to the bug tracker but if it work sometimes and sometimes not it is hard to catch what goes wrong.
Maybe another Thunderbird user steps by.Cheers, mib

Hi Mib2Berlin,
as I wrote in the first post, this behavior does not occur on my smartphone (K9-Mail). There I have IMAP also in use. Also, I can still use the humble Vivaldi webmail then. However, this is not a substitute for a real mail client for me.
But since the smartphone uses a different IP (the one from the network provider) it probably therefore does not come to these problems there.
In Thunderbird I have already set the max connections to "1", see screenshot.
Alternatively, I have also configured Outlook. Even that doesn't work anymore as soon as the server-side blockade of max. 10 connections is reached.
It seems almost everyone here only uses webmail, otherwise I can't explain why no one else has reported this yet.
Many greetings

I have not seen this. Using the Vivaldi Mail Client.
Have also been testing on other mail clients and not run into any issues. -
